What I'm wondering is why this update wasn't just part of the color changes in characters update like a week or two ago. I don't see why it's so special when comparing to the option of using Dark Link or something It's because everyones alternate costumes are just different color schemes. Wario, however, changes clothes entirely. And they needed days to kill.

Now wait though...they already showed Snake with a full costume swap. He has both the sneaking suit and camo ala Snake Eater.
Unless Wario's moves are different with the overalls, this really isn't that big a deal. It is cool to see that they at least put it in, though.

Dec. 25 Tue. 2007 Sonic: Final Smash <Super Sonic> When talking about Sonic’s Final Smash, there is no other option than Super Sonic! Use the power of the Chaos Emeralds to transform. Race through the air at reckless speed! Get the Smash Ball! Now I’ll show you! Haaaaaaaaahhhhh! He has tremendous inertia and is hard to control, but his top speed is top class! Those who are witnessing this move should plan on dodging! Whoa! Hold on! I won’t take it! If you boost your speed recklessly, you’ll pass by people too quickly, making it easier for them to dodge. Speed control is important with this Final Smash. And it’s over. __________ Dec. 25 Tue. 2007 Sonic The Hedgehog: Angel Island Zone "Sonic The Hedgehog: Angel Island Zone" (0:50) Composition Supervisor: SEGA Arrangement Supervisor: Jun Senoue The song used as the background music for the Sonic The Hedgehog Joins the Brawl movie is called "Live and Learn." As you can tell by listening, it’s a pretty hot song, and it has many fans. Oh... You can, of course, enjoy the original version in this game as well. And the person who created that song, Jun Senoue, has arranged a song for this game! It is "Angel Island Zone." It is a song from "Sonic The Hedgehog 3," in which Knuckles first appeared.

I think I'll stick with Wario. He's quickly becoming my favorite character, especially since the WarioWare games are some of my favorites.
Now...he're hoping for...well, that purple-haired guy from Crystalis? In all of his 8-bit glory!

Trophy StandsAmong the many trophies are some representing the enemies that appear in The Subspace Emissary. Like this. But they cannot be gotten easily. You must turn the enemies directly into trophies to get them! The item that is needed to do this is a trophy stand. Basically, it’s the stand the trophy rests on. When an enemy appears, you need to significantly weaken it. Pay attention to the damage meter at the top-left corner of the screen. If you’re lucky enough to have a trophy stand, throw it at your enemy after you’ve weakened it! If it goes well... It will hit with a thud! And it becomes a trophy! Now you get the trophy. Whoa! What’s happened?! You could say this is only possible because of the setting of the Smash world. You can then view that trophy in your trophy gallery! Perhaps the trophy descriptions will give you some insight into the backstory of The Subspace Emissary... Of course, you can also do this to get boss trophies. Yes! I’m definitely gonna get you today! Since you can’t get these trophies if you don’t have a trophy stand, pure skill is not enough—it requires a little luck, too. I’ll make it so you’ll somehow be allowed to fight the bosses even after you’ve already cleared the game, so it’s OK if you don’t hunt all these trophies down in the first battle.

Coin LauncherIn the last game, you plopped the coins you collected into a prize-dispensing machine for a chance to get trophies. That was fine and all, but I got to thinking that there really wasn’t any strategy involved. So this time, I dropped it. Instead, you’ll be getting your trophies in THIS kind of game! I dub this the Coin Launcher! I’m gonna have you play every inch of this game! That option on the right is the entrance to the Coin Launcher. That thing down below is the launcher. Tilt left and right to change the angle of the launcher and press the button to roll coins out. Basically, the coins themselves are your bullets. Firefirefirefire. FIRE! And you got it! The trophies move, so shoot, shoot, shoot them before they get away. If you hit a trophy with a few shots, it will be yours. An enemy formation has appeared! When you defeat formations of smaller enemies, you earn stickers and bonuses. When your green gauge fills up, it becomes possible to shoot coins rapid-fire for a short time. A missile appeared! Hit the missiles to shoot them down. If a missile strikes, your coin count will decrease! Whaaaaaaa! Press the Cancel Button to quit. Then the results of your trophy and sticker shooting will appear. The green ones are trophies. The red ones are stickers. The more you play the other modes, the more coins you’ll earn for the Coin Launcher. You can even earn them in Spectator mode. When you want even more coins, inviting friends over is your best option. The more people you play with, the more coins you’ll earn.

Are all the characters revealed then, or are they going to just keep some hidden for the time being. The updates have been VERY uneventful the past few weeks.

2 updates DragoonIt is said that if you collect all three parts, you will complete the legendary Air Ride machine... There it is! Dragoon Part A! It’s broken into three parts: Dragoon Part A, the nosecone... Dragoon Part B, the hull... and Dragoon Part C, the tail. Gather all three and the Dragoon is formed! Target in sight! FIRE!!! Of course, given the amount of preparation required, it boasts tremendous firepower! If it strikes you, consider it a one-hit KO. The battle for this item is hot. When you get Dragoon parts, these icons appear! Hit an opponent who has one of the Dragoon parts to make him drop it like a fumble. You also drop the parts when you lose a life. If you want to get a part in hand, then beat on your opponent! The same can be said for Smash Balls—those, too, are items that everyone really wants badly, so the scramble can be quite funny! The joy of finally getting all three. Your enemies doing whatever they can to flee. It’s like we’ve added a delicious new spice, so I hope you’ll enjoy it during multiplayer matches. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ShareI have a request for the many people who want to play over Wi-Fi! The first time you play the Wi-Fi modes, please be sure to set the Smash Service to ON. Here in the Options... You’ll find "Smash Service." If you don’t turn this Smash Service on, you won’t receive any data! I ask that you take great care not to forget this step. <Data Sent by Nintendo> Choose Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. In order to receive data sent by Nintendo, you need to first choose Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection mode. You connect without incident. When you confirm the message... Data appears in the applicable mode! Things that have "Download" written on them were sent by Nintendo. Now, downloaded data from Nintendo will gradually be overwritten, so there’s no need to worry about your Wii’s memory running out. <Data Sent by a Friend> Whoa. A lot of stuff arrived. Nice. When something arrives, you’ll get a message on your Wii Message Board. When you start up the game... The data will be in its respective places. Now, since this data comes from your friends, this is where you have to watch your remaining save memory! If the remaining free space on your Wii System Memory is running low, you won’t be able to receive the data. Move old data to an SD card or erase it. You can also send data to multiple friends at once. It’s difficult to put the joy of being able to exchange snapshots and stages into words. I certainly hope you will all enjoy it.

According to a Japanese blog, someone is claiming that SSBB was playable at Jump Fiesta 08, and revealed that SMG's Rosalina and Mother 3s Duster are Assist Trophies. Also it was revealed that Sandbag is now an item.

new info from brawlcentral: Kirby's Final Smash does about 35% damage. The Soccer Ball bursts into flames when used. It cannot be countered or caught. The clock SLOWS DOWN time. It does not FREEZE time. Your oppnents are slowed down, but sometimes it can have a "dud" effect like the hammer, and slow you down also. Lucas's PK Freeze is much more mobile than Ness's old PK Flash Snakes's Landmine attack is REMOTE, not PROXIMITY. New FE Music: "The Kingdom of Bern". I don't know much about FE, but I guess there's a city in FE called Bern and it has a battle of some sort. Regigigas, Metagross, Onix and Garchomp are Poke Ball Pokemon. Metagross does Earthquake, Onix does the same from Smash 64, and Regigigas turns red and uses what is thought ot be Crush Grip. New info on Rosalina's AT: She hovers around and throws star pieces, which can be picked up and used to recover damage. A Luma also come sout with her. Pit and Pokemon Trainer both speak during their Final Smashes. PT's english version of his speaking part seems to be the same as the text that appears on screen, "Take That! Triple Finish!" Kirby is more powerful this time around, as we have mentioned previously. Wario is powerful, but has a lot of start-up lag. Pegasus Knight from the Fire Emblem series as an AT Zelda's Din's Fire has been Nefred a bit.

More Brawl stuff: It seems that if you "pass" a mini-game on the WarioWare stage, you heal slightly. <--Seems a bit odd to me, personally. Wario had his original overalls as a costume at Jump Festa. Meta Knight has a Kirby (pink) colored costume. Sothe, from Fire Emblem I believe, is an assist trophy. I guess he's supposed to use knives in the game, but doesn't in Brawl. Instead he does a somersault kick. NEW MUSIC! Animal Crossing Main Theme, Balloon Fight's Balloon Trip music, and WarioWare Main Theme. I have no idea what WarioWare's main theme is, unless they mean Ashley's theme? When you start a match, the background music is displyed. As seen on the Dojo, Wario-Man's bike is very fast and it's easy to SD with it. More info on Sandbag Item: You beat him up, and items come out as you hit him. The WarioWare stage features over 8 minigames, including "Don't Move". Level 9 computers are still weak, according to some people. Bowser and Kirby seem to be getting more and more praise for how much they have improved over their Melee forms. MORE MUSIC CONFIRMED: Yoshi's Island has songs called "Ending BGM" and "Athletic". Norfair has "Brinstar BGM", "Samus's Theme", and "Metroid Ending Theme". Bridge of Eldin has "Great Bay". Snake's Remote Mine (Down Smash) varies in damage from 10-20%. Kirby's new Dash Move is named "Break Spin". It's being refered to as the yo-yo attack, but does not involve a yo-yo of any kind

Melee stages: Part 2There was already an entry detailing how we’ve brought back some of the stages from Super Smash Bros. Melee... So here are some more stages that can also be played in Super Smash Bros. Brawl! Yoshi’s Island The steep slopes on either side are its defining characteristic. That central platform screams "accident!" Corneria Battle atop the Great Fox! Of course, Arwings come flying in, too. Onett The offensive and defensive struggles on the buildings of Onett return! Whoa, whoa, whoa! Watch out for cars. Brinstar It’s the dreaded, legendary ocean of acid! The rising and falling ocean of acid changes the field of play greatly. Rainbow Ride Tour the course in this forced scrolling stage. The boat sinks mid-trip and you embark on a roundabout tour! This is amazing! Is this a lavish feast or what? I can tell you that for everyone working on this game, the amount of content has been surprising to say the least.
