Someone had to say it, I guess . . . A vote for TNA 2007 is either (a) someone who doesn't watch regularly and probably someone who has never seen their PPVs (b) WWE fanboy (c) didn't watch much wrestling pre-2007 or (d) fueled by blind hatred--keyword: "blind." TNA 2007 is not golden and it's not even close to being my favorite promotion in 2007, but bypassing several of other choices for that vote seems to fit snugly into one of those four categories. This poll is definitely a 9 out of 10 on the "I-Don't-Understand-o-Meter." Or they just....don't like TNA?

Global on ESPN was probably the worst promotion I've ever seen on national TV. They had some real bright spots (young Waltman doing flips with a healthy neck, The Patriot, random guys like Gordy and Eddie Gilbert coming in), but that was a debacle.
I was around 10 when it was on, but it was so bad, I haven't even bothered to go back and revisit it. From my memory, they had a fictional owner, fake shows happening around the world, a GWF "world champion" in Europe or Asia that didn't exist, and more has-beens and relic jobbers from dead territories in Alabama/Georgia/Texas than you could shake a stick at. They even renamed WCCW's Sportatorium (basically an enormous garage and dump of a building) "The brand-new Global Dome". It was far more embarrassing than any promotion I've ever seen. Demolition Ax even came in as "Axis The Demolisher".
The owners started the promotion after conning banks for credit after falling for a snail mail scam that was a precursor to those "Nigerian millionaire/direct bank deposit" e-mails. They tried to sell GWF to Jerry Jarrett, and he listened since they had an ESPN timeslot, but the only proof of worth they had were essentially junk mail coupons "redeemable for U.S. currency". The whole thing was a scam and a sham, and the owners were naive and in way over their heads. Somebody should make a DVD on Global.

TNA has had more good matches in the last month than XPW ever had.

So I knew very little about XPW before reading this thread. Did a YouTube search for some matches and I came upon this: youtube.com/ watch?v=iB8cSPfrNiU I think I've seen enough.

I didn't even think AWA was around in the 90's
The answer is CZW 2007 but I picked TNA because I refuse to pick other. And XPW got good towards the end when Shane Douglas was booking.

I'm not a TNA mark by ANY means but there is NO WAY in hell that it was worse than WCW from 2000.
edit: I have lost all faith in anybody who voted WWE 2007 over WCW 2000, I mean I know it was so bad it was funny but it's not like WCW was actually trying to be funny.

TNA has been good in the past, as have all the other promotions listed--except XPW. XPW was NEVER good, so it gets my vote.

I never saw XPW until this thread. After seeing how bad it was supposed to be I looked some up on Youtube.
If there was anything great about it, I certainly didn't see it there...

The fact that TNA and WWE 2007 got more votes than WCW 2000 is prime example of IWC rule 4.B Section 2: Everything current sucks. Everything old was awesome.

XPW. TNA may be a bit hit and miss at times, and russo booking does make me want to bang my head against a brick wall, but XPW was something else. i never even want to think about that steaming vial of mule s**t.

I voted XPW, but I was actually quite close to voting TNA for one simple reason. They have no excuses. XPW was supposed to suck, and it did. They had very little talent and it showed. TNA, however, has some of the finest talent on earth, and could easily be the best 2 hours of wrestling on TV each an every week, but their brain dead "creative" department manages to screw it up each and every week. So they are almost worse than XPW because they could so easily be good. Still, XPW ate bowls of shit,to the point that I couldnt even stand to watch a minute of it, so it gets my vote.

I'll agree XWF was a huge mess, mainly becasue they only ran a couple shows then said they were waiting for a national tv deal.

I'll agree XWF was a huge mess, mainly becasue they only ran a couple shows then said they were waiting for a national tv deal. MECW was the one run by a guy named John Collins; they had all this pre-hype, but things started going wrong from the start. To kick off their promotion, they "invaded" some indy fed. An indy fed that had all of about 40 or 50 people in the crowd, no TV, etc. Was also famous for the whole Steve Corino/Buff Bagwell situation, and also for stiffing just about everyone pay-wise. To get out of it all, Collins faked a heart attack.

Any vote not for XPW is either a misinformed vote, or a lie. XPW was shite beyond comprehension.

As bad as TNA currently is (and it's pretty damn bad), and as lathargic as WWE has become (I think even 3-toed sloths would find it dull), WCW 2000 wins this vote hands down. Unlike XPW, WCW 2000 had a roster with the likes of DDP. Sting, Ric Flair, Billy Kidman, Hulk Hogan, Booker T, Sid Vicious, and more...and they STILL drove the thing into the toilet. However... Whomever currently has Vince Russo on the payroll. This is the truest post in this entire thread.
