Well he was concussed and stitched up. Concussions don't make your promos any better.
I feel bad for Nigel. Last year at this time people left and right were wanting Nigel to be champ more than anyone else. Then he lost to Morishima twice and lost a bit of momentum and people started complaining about him becoming McLariat, then he won the title and it was supposed to be his crowning moment but due to PPV we haven't seen it yet. Then he gets injured before two of ROH's biggest shows of the year (Glory by Honor and Final Battle) and now this mess about the concussions and such.
This has to be the most unfortunate ROH Title run ever. At least Gabe has planted the seeds for Nigel to be a face, heel, or tweener with the belt.

Whoo-whee.
Just finished watching the promo. It's actually pretty brilliant, because Nigel can SO go either way now between face and heel.
Loved the "sexual interaction" part. Heh!

Lame insults and a "I deserve this attitude." Sounds like a champion to me...
Although, in seriousness, that is a nasty injury (near Joey Mercury levels) and it was a darn good idea not to go through with a match that night, despite the agression of fans who seem to think that everything is deserved to them.
Anyway, I like how ROH begins and ends the video hyping the PPV where Nigel faces Morishima for the belt...despite the fact that the video is a straight-up spoiler. Sure, he may have won the title "somewhere or sometime" else...but still...meh.

It certainly wasn't a John Cena like reaction that everyone said, I guess people were blowing it out of proportion to make it seem big, in my opinion. Because Nigel actually got some cheers, lol. Where as people literally wanted Cena's head.
I liked the promo, I thought it was pretty emotional, a good promo. I saw what happened, and it definitely looked like an accident.

i'm sad for his situation. i was one of the supporters last year that was BEGGING to see nigel as champion. then morishma won it, which disapointed me...but shima was so bad ass in his reigns he made an excellent champion. i can understand that being injured happens, and nigel has had a HORRIBLE time with injuries, but it's time for nigel to drop the title.
when morishima won the belt, it was exciting because no one expected. ring of honor built nigel up for MONTHS to be a threat for the title, and then he lost to morishima. then they built him up again...and he lost again. by then, people were waiting for the next challenger, and then danielson came back, aries came back...nigel simply got lost in the shuffle, which is why i can't support him as champion.
i am BEGGING ring of honor...to put the title...
*sigh*

i prefered pure champ nigel.
why can't he go back to wrestling that style. World of sport technical wrestling reminiscent of Billy Robinson, combined with elements of regal and dynamite kid.
gah that along with the promo style of that character were far better.
im hating McLariat, him and his concussion self
