I don't care about the filters, but smurf Nigel. This is insane. Glad to see some change with Puder, Martinez, and new tag champs, but I'm calling shenanigans on Nigel's reign. Xavier style shenanigans. Whoaaaaaa, XAVIER STYLE?! That's quite a claim!

Sorry, I don't know what happened there.

God, Nigel can't catch a break. That said, even if he were healthy, the NYC crowd would still give him crap, as Manhattan is AmDrag country.

Fair question to ask:
Whereas Gabe has generally booked Ring of Honor with respect being shown to some semblance of continuity; Whereas Christopher Daniels and Donovan Morgan were, as the Prophecy, ROH's first tag team champions; Whereas the ROH tag team championship was defended by the Prophecy in a trios match; Whereas Xavier, not Morgan, was teamed with Daniels the night that Red and Styles won the championship...
Are we due for some championship shenanigans and tomfoolery with the Age of the Fall? Or will ROH limit the World Tag Team Championship to Black and Jacobs, thus leaving Necro Butcher free to wreak singles havoc?

Strip Nigel please he isn't reliable. isn't reliable? he got injured winning the title, and he got injured defending the title. its not Nigel McGuinness fault that ROH has guard rails made out of sheet metal which are notorious for injuring people

Awesome to see the AotF take the tag belts. Jimmy and Black should make awesome champs.

I'm starting to think that ROH needs some sort of kayfabe on-screen/in-ring authority figure. Not necessarily an evil one like James E. Cornette. Certainly not a WWE-style book-by-the-seat-of-the-pants General Manager. But something. I think the company ought to give the fans something more than Bobby Cruise reciting talking points off of index cards. If the World Champion can't defend, someone has to say that Nigel can be out of the match but keep the title. Just announcing the card change is bullcrap.
In today's wrestling business, more and more wrestlers are suffering serious injuries yet still putting their bodies on the line, night in and night out. Wrestlers' careers are shortened or ended because of injuries. Pressure from promoters to fulfill a contract and from fans to live up to expectations influences many wrestlers to work through rather than heal an injury. By allowing Nigel McGuinness to hold the Ring of Honor World Championship despite his current inability to compete, Ring of Honor ownership and management is sending a message to the current roster and prospective talent that there is a promotion that gives a damn about the wrestlers' wellbeing. This is a precedent that is being set, that the talent is of utmost importance. Also, wrestlers up and down the card are being shown that they don't have to worry all that much about losing their spot if they can't go. This is, long-term, a good thing.
Too bad no one from ROH seems to want to acknowledge this aspect of the current situation.

"Those goths smurfs! This whole smurfing thing... I did not watch my buddies die face down in the muck so that this smurfing travesty can been shown to people!" What this guy said. That being said, we were hoping something was done to put AotF out in the forefront.

I hope we still get Strong/Generico in Boston. Stevens/Aries for the FIP Title would be pretty sweet too.
I was kinda' hoping Necro would win the belts with Jacobs, just to see his reaction to the shiny ;D

Too bad no one from ROH seems to want to acknowledge this aspect of the current situation. Could not have said it better myself. However, if they are going with this Nigel heel turn that they have been teasing to, I think it would be cool to have him not neccessarily fake his injuries, but milk them longer then they need to be. Whether it be a long term story line, or just playing possum in a match. As one poster pointed out, ala D'Lo Brown or Shane Douglas. In a promotion that sells workrate, a champion who doesn't want to defend because his arm may get injured again would be one hell of a heel for ROH.
