For anyone who goes to a lot of indy shows, who is the best indy wrestler you've seen? I live in South Carolina a promotion that I've become very familiar with is CWA pro wrestling based out of Orangeburg and Columbia, SC. Anyways their heavyweight champ for over a year has been Timber the Insane Lumberjack and I think it's only a matter of time before we see him on tv. Anyways who is your favorite indy wrestler? EDIT: Oh yeah, post some videos of these guys if you can. Thanks MGH. Timber cuts a promo: www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3MqsgpIj2wTimber vs Shane Falco: www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzrIJ-gmsPc

Bah, but mine is El Generico, but he's more of a PWG guy than an ROH guy.
A lot of guys have worked ROH, but that doesn't make them ROh guys.

Damien Wayne,Sean Denny and Preston Quinn from the mid atlantic area is definitely some of the top wrestlers in the World.
Damien Wayne and Sean Denny had one of the best indy matches ever title "The Night of the Ironmen".
Damien Wayne is the former NWA North American Champion and will be feature on the new NWA show. All three is feature on the weekly internet nwaworldwidewrestling.net

I've taken a liking to TJ Perkins. I dunno why, but he popped into my head when I read the thread description.
Other than him, I'm rather fond of Josh Abercrombie, Chuck Taylor, Player Uno, and Max Boyer.

I think the best indie wrestlers that aren't "ROH" wrestlers are Mike Quackenbush, Necro, Brain Damage
(I'm considering Chris Hero and Claudio ROH wrestlers)

The best "local indy guy" i ever saw here in west michigan was some guy named "Alpha Male" Monty Brown.
Whatever happened to that guy?

Dennis Gregory from IWC. The guy is one of the best straight heels that I've seen in a long, long time, not counting Kurt Angle, Christian, and/or Edge.

Eddie Kingston. He's not the most refined technical wrestler I've ever seen, but he's got the gift of gab, and has a great character. He's somebody I feel who is very interesting to watch in the ring. The biggest critiques I have of indy wrestling is it looks too fake and it's guys flying around a lot of the time (sometimes though I guess it's not by choice, as in Chikara for example, a lot of the wrestlers are coming out of the school and not all that experienced so you can't expect a bunch of William Regals). But Eddie, he's just a fighter, he's just vicious, and he's great to watch in the ring. I feel on the indies, guys go out there and don't suspend their own disbelief, in that they are supposed to win a match. With Eddie, you feel he goes out there to win, and I get sucked into his matches a lot of the time.
Other guys I enjoy are Max Boyer (another guy who goes out there to win), and Chuck Taylor is ok, but his schtick is getting old I feel. Plus like, you build up this cowardly character, but have him win cleanly the majority of the time it seems. You have him getting in a lot more offense then he really should. To me, everything about Chuck Taylor doesn't match his character. I feel a lot of the time he's booked in a counter productive manner.
