Agreed. THIS was the perfect Transformers movie: Hardly. Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ratchet, Ironhide, Brawn and Starscream (amongst others) all died? Lame. No that made it awesome, plus nothing in the new movie can compare to this scene www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUAlN80LBnc&feature=related

I hate when people say this. No, it was not the perfect Transformers movie. It was still a fun Transformers movie. I won't feel guilty for enjoying myself watching this movie. Agreed. Was it gonna win an Oscar? Nope, but nobody was expecting it to. I was actually expecting it to win visual effects. But in all seriousness, in terms of the overall enjoyment of this film, there's this guy that occasionally hangs out at the comic shop I go to who is OBSESSED with the original show (wears the tees, has the autobot logo on his car, was told has the figures all over his house) and he loves this film. Way I see it, if a mark loves it, then it's more than visuals

My nerdy explanation.
Robots that are brought to life by the cube lack any direction, and simply go ballistic. They need guidance before they pick sides.
The current run of Action Figures is called "All Spark Power" and comprises theoretical robots brought to life by the All-Spark during the battle of Mission City. There are Autobots and Decepticons in this group. For instance, I recently got "Landmine" who was the Sector-7 desert buggy before the All-Spark granted him life. He sided with the Autobots and trained in combat under Ironhide, according to his bio. The bios of these figures offer better explanations.

I thought it was entertaining. All we need is entertainment, do we not?

Hardly. Optimus Prime, Megatron, Ratchet, Ironhide, Brawn and Starscream (amongst others) all died? Lame. You are incorrect. Besides, the Ghost of Starscream saga and the heel turn of Optimus before his full-on return ruled. FACT. What are you on about? Hot Rod was f***ing lame compared to prime and all of the secondary characters (Wheelie, Blurr, Kup) all totally sucked. My nerdy explanation. Also got Stockade amongst many others. I have 12 of the movie toys in total, just need two more before I'm done.

Again, I'm afraid your opinion is the wrong one. Are you insinuating that Wheelie didn't suck donkey dong? No, I am not in fact defending Wheelie. In fact it still makes me sad that Frank Welker voiced this character; a rare miss by one of the greats. Blurr also was a substantially less than stellar addition, which is probably why he was mostly left out of the series post-movie, but I can't entirely hate Hot Rod, even if he was directly responsible for killing Optimus, just by virtue of being voice by Judd Nelson in the movie, and knowing he wasn't a good enough replacement for Optimus in the series. But I stand by my statement, the '86 version ruled hard and continues to rule today.
