Looks like Bryan Alvarez submitted a trivia entry for this film at imdb: Trivia for Never Back Down (2008): As a disclaimer, this movie is not an accurate representation of MMA.Yes thats an actual entry. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) That's fun. It'd be better if the film was in fact an accurate representation of MMA and the big climactic end fight immediately went to the gaurd position and stayed there for a good ten minutes, eventually going to the score cards for the victory.

Or ended in 10 seconds due to ref's decision. ;D Or even better, during the climactic fight, Martin Riggs runs in, beats the two douches down, and him and Murtaugh walk off into the sunset.

I saw this once. (kind of) UFC 1. Back when they weren't yet sure of what they wanted the rules to be and the fighters were just not variations on the same bland guy. Only, guy A charges in and is immediately spun to the ground and kicked in the eye by guy B. Fight is stopped to the cut's gushy nature. It seriously took longer for Diesel to beat Backlund. I don't know if the Octagon is ready for Riggs and Murtaugh, but I'd love to see some hardcore MMA guy take the LW approach to popping his shoulder back into place one time.

Boy those were the days, when MMA was really Mixed Martial Arts and not "MMA Style fighting" Kickboxer Vs Big Fat Wrestler, Ju Jitsu guy vs Kung Fu guy, ect. Good times.

You're right, the title MMA should no longer apply as what remains is a uni-style of fighting. MMA Style. It's garbage.
