Some of you might know my dad has been sick recently. He died early this morning, peacefully and painlessly.
I bit the bullet and went to see him..and even though that experience was as difficult as I feared; I'm glad I did it.
It was very very hard to see him seemingly aged thirty years in a week and in considerable discomfort....but thankfully now I can rest easy knowing all the pain has passed.
A lot of people have issues with parents for whatever reason...but I can honestly say I always knew my dad was as better or as good of a human being that ever walked the planet.
The most gentle, compassionate, and loving man I've ever met..I was always proud of him and I'm proud of the pieces of his nature that found its way into me and my son.
Thanks to everyone who kept him and us in their thoughts and prayers..with a special thanks to a few of you who went out of their way to open lines of communication in which I could let out my emotions during the difficult time.

(((((hugs)))))) I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm glad you went to see him, hard as it was. Down the road you'll need that closure in your mind and in your heart. I never had that with my mom and as tough as things seem for you right now, down the road you'll be better off for having gotten to say your silent goodbyes.

My condolences. I you feel exactly as you speak you will should be fine. I've only had to face death once and it was not one as close as my own father. I ran at first. I didn't understand the necessity of sorting the end out. Believe me, it matters. What you did was right. When your grief has past you'll be better for it. I hope I'm not running my mouth too much. I just desire to help.

And just a quick note...anyone that isn't respectful in here is gone. No warnings, no s***, just gone. The fact that I have to say this saddens me.
