I say Spike Spiegel is a bishie. Bishies can also be handsome badass guys that don't look like they are badasses. At the time I say he would've qualified, but in today's world? Not a chance. Bishies went from slightly feminine to "girls without vaginas and breasts" in the ten years or so since Cowboy Bebop. |

Bishies went from slightly feminine to "girls without vaginas and breasts" in the ten years or so since Cowboy Bebop. Huh....Cloud, Squall, Sephiroth, Byakuya, Zack, Angeal, Genesis, and many more are considered Bishies still and yet they obviously are guys who just look feminine a little. Hell even Sesshomaru from Inuyasha is a bishie and he is as badass and manly as you can get for an anime character. |

They were bishie for their time periods and people still associate them with the term. But it should be pointed out that almost every character you mentioned was designed over or right at a decade ago. Thnings have changes in the last ten years. Compare those designs with the FAR more feminine designs of anime/manga/VG bishie characters of today. Hell, even comparing Final Fantasy characters, Vaan from FF XII makes Squall look like Sgt. Slaughter. And Vaan is relatively tame compared to some of the designs out there today. |
