I just wanted to show my apprieciation for mr.tenta I've only met three "major" wrestlers before Yokozuna, Fatu (or riskishi), and Earthquake my first wrestling figures i recieved were earthquake and typhoon and a few years ago i had the privilage of going to a british wrestling promotion with Quake on the bill and at the end of the night, he greeted everybody that came and singed items all for free , and he was right by the exit so everybody could get to meet him, i had about 50 items for him to sign which he was happy to sign. I would just like to personally thank you for everything you have done for wrestling

I second this. You are a great memory of mine, in wrestling.
Thank you John Tenta.

Agreed, having a bonafide wrestling legend here as part of the board makes this place extra cool. Thank you Mr. Tenta.

Personally, I am impressed with the way you actually post here, instead of popping up once and going away.
I would like to know, just out of interest, if you are still friends with Terry Bollea, and what you think of his involvement in wrestling, and his daughter's musical career.
You don't have to answer that if you don't want to though.

Not that I don't appreciate Tenta, but is this thread REALLY necessary. This is the John Tenta Forum, and everyone already appreciates him. Also, if one wants to thank him can't they just give him a PM. God created us all equal, and you are sucking up to a guy by making an appreciation thread. I don't have an appreciation thread, and I answer questions that people ask, and I am sure that I am a veteran of hundreds of backyard matches (safe, of course), so why do we treat people different in relation to what they have done? Very few of you have met Tenta, so how can you properly appreciate him. If he wasn't on the forum I bet that you would be insulting the guys matches, like you do with all the other hosses, most probably like you did before Tenta logged in for the first time. But, seeing as he took the time to talk to you humanoids, you delude yourself that he wrestled 4* matches every time he was in the ring and contributed so much to the business. But he was just another guy in the WWF, very little separating him from the rest of the generic bIg-man mould.
I have nothing against Tenta, I think he is a pretty decent guy judging from his posts and I am glad he has nearly defeated cancer, but the amount of ass-kissing that goes on here is unbelievable. We should just accept him for what he is, a member of a wrestling forum. We do not treat people differently here according to their monetary status, nor their race, but yet because this guy was in the WWF for a few years he is automatically royalty. This is discrimination, the only thing that should change the way we treat people is the number of posts that they have, and John doesn't have many in that regard.
To clarify, I am not against John getting a section of the site to himself as I feel that the amount of mail he would get on other pages of the site would make other discussions become almost irrelevant. But topics like this one are the kind of thing that makes my blue blood boil, as I dislike preferential treatment. For ecample, remember that kid in school who could do no wrong in the teacher's eyes. How irritated were you when you were punished and he was not for the same offence. It is a double standard, and it needs to stop. I feel that John should be treated just as another forum member, and people should lay down their true opinions of the man, rather than what the MAN wants us to think. By all means ask him questions, but no one really needs to hear any of this "Thank you for replying" c***, as nobody else gets thanked for their posts sans RD.
I thank you for your time.

Hi...
John doesn't HAVE to post here. He does it because he WANTS to, and to thank everyone for their support, their well-wishes, AND their prayers.
So, if someone WANTS to post an APPRECIATION THREAD, that's COOL with ME, and mostly everyone else too...I'm sure!

With all due respect I doubt that Tenta could be called a wrestling legend, how many people could honestly tell us that " came to see Earthquake."
Also, honestly, how many people feel that there is too much ass-kissing on this forum?

Well call this ass kissing if you must, but I'm personally giving John all sorts of respect on beating this illness he has.
I lost my father nine years ago on the 7th of this month from complications of the cancer he had. I miss the hell out of him, and if John beats this cancer he has...excellent!
Keep on fighting, John! I'm pullin' for ya, buddy!

All right Waddle 147, here it is. You're sore because I haven't acknowledged you up to this point, quite frankly, because I don't see a lot of respect in your posts. Vince McMahon considers me a "legend" thus, the legends contract, but these threads have never been about my wrestling abilities. If in your last "backyard match" someone shoved your head up your butt, get him to pull it out for you so you can read the posts. People use it to wish me well, as I in return wish others well, and to ask me questions about my wrestling history, and a few backstage stories. They appreciate who I was, and treat me with respect, and hopefully I return it. These threads are more like me getting together with a few friends and B.S.ing. I think that's all I need to say for now. Good luck with your backyard wrestling, and don't do anything stupid. Oh, wait, backyard wrestling IS stupid. 'Quake

Ha ha...Waddle just got owned by 'Quake!
Seriously, we post here because we grew up watching WWF at a time in which John was one of the company's stars. Therefore, we have many vivid memories of what he has done in wrestling. We love sharing our memories of his matches/interviews/vignettes because they were a part of our lives back then, and as wrestling fans, they're moments we never want to forget.
Some of the things John's done, from the 'Quake Burgers' incident to his 'I'm not a fish...I'm a man' speech are significant moments that will forever be ingrained in my memory.
I think John realizes that just about all of us appreciate him, and he definitely won't let any message board trolls damage this part of the board.

LOL thats classic
And Quake about the interaction here although I have only been a member here for a short while, I have been reading for along time and to me it did always seem like you were just one of the guys and not like we were looking up at you as a "Wrestling God"(sorry had to use a cheesy JBL and HHH line). I for one am glad to see the man that scared me as a child is such a down to earth shooting the "breeze" kind of guy.
Take care Chris Edwards

I think it's great that Mr. Tenta takes some time out of his schedule and actually interacts with the fans. When I saw he actually posts here I was shocked. I have a lot of respect for Mr. Tenta to actually do that. When I think back to when I first started watching wrestling as a little kid, one of the earliest things I can remember is actually an Earthquake promo. I was a fan of yours as a kid, because I always liked the heel antics, especially attacking Hogan.
I know you probably see messages like this alot here, but I figured I'd go ahead and post one to go along with them. I think it's a really classy thing that you're doing by interacting with everyone here. And best of wishes in completely overcoming cancer.

OK, John, I was never insulting you in these posts, if you feel that way then I would like to apologise, but you yourself have to admit that there is a hell of a lot of ass-kissing, and I HAVE read your posts about finding God, so you acknowledge that all human kind are equal. I am just the kind of person who prefers to express their real feelings. Put it like this John, I know that you have battled with cancer and won (which I am glad about, by the way), but let's say that it was getting the better of you. Would you rather the doctor smile sweetly and tell you that you would be fine, or give you the truth, no matter how bad?
Another point is the respect issue. When I referred to you as "Senor Tenta", it was meant as a JOKE. Someone from my school was going to come online and insult you, but I made them realise that you didn't deserve that.
Oh and by the way, the "backyard wrestling" I was referring to was the kind that a lot of children do when they are 11 or 12, as I was at the time. And we never got hurt because there was little contact other than punches and kicks that missed by a foot, or maybe the odd slam at 1 mile per hour. Mick Foley, one of your fellow wrestlers, allows his children to wrestle. I am aware of this because I read his mammoth autobiography in about 12 hours, so I guess it must be fine at a very low risk factor. I refuse to have my intelligence insulted as I am not the one who is stupid, but anyone who alters their opinion in a bid to suck up is truly an imbocile. Unlike others, I think about things.
This will probably make me hated on wrestlecrap, but not all people take the same side in a debate. I am telling the truth, if you ever go on the main forums they always refer to Heidenreich as "Heidenrape" and other such shenanigans. Do you think this would be the case if he joined? Before you joined the forums, people were most probably saying the same kind of stuff about you, but now that you are here they are going to change their opinion. It would be for your own good if you realised this. One of the things which I hate is people being shallow, something which I do not think that you are, and this is in prime location here as some of the main posters here were probably not-so-long ago saying "Earthquake sucks." I refuse to be dragged down in the barrage that is ass-kissing, and I would appreciate it if people who feel the same were to reply to this and voice their opinion on the topic.
I thank you John for taking the time to read this, get back to me whenever.

Here's an even better idea Waddle, stop flaming other posters right now. You don't like some of the things people say, fine. But you will NOT be attacking other posters here. This is your ONLY warning.

Waddle,I know not every fan liked my style, and you're entitled to your opinion as myself and others are. i am more than used to people criticizing myself, and my wrestling abilities especially when I lived in Florida, had a small promotion and was verbally attacked on a daily basis. I'm a big boy and can handle it. I simply will say a couple things. First, if you didn't like my wrestling, tell me what you didn't like. I can't change anything because you'll be glad to know I'll never wrestle again. But simply saying that basically "your matches suck" and not telling me why is not constructive for anyone. These forums are like television, if you don't like what you read, turn the channel. You're friend is welcome to "insult" me anytime if that's what that person wants. It's like water off a duck's back because I don't know you, or him, and immature comments mean nothing to me. You know who I am, but to me you're just Waddle. What waddle like a duck? Or Wabble like a Weeble? I knew the day would finally come when someone would try to upset me. Your tasteless joke about the wrestler's family is just priceless. You should write a book. I probably will not respond to you again Waddle because as you can see you have succeeded in ruffling my feathers, and I don't want to start saying things I'll regret. I don't want to start a big war on words. So as you did to me, I too, will apologise if I offended you. 'Quake

GOOD FOR YOU!
It's too bad that your warning wasn't heeded. But, I say to you..."You're the man!"
I sincerely wish that other websites would handle haters or flamers on THEIR boards as YOU have done here today.
Once again...GOOD FOR YOU!
