Hey Quake, big fan of all your work! I have a quick 2-part question. When you and Typhoon were tag champs, what happened with the belts when you guys went on the road? Like were you responsible for carrying the belts all the time, or were they just sent seperatly? Also, did they ever send you a copy of the belt as a momento, or mabye did you have the opportunity to get one if you wanted? I was watching MTV and Chyna had a framed IC title belt on her wall from when she won it, so I was just wondering. Thanks man!

Like were you responsible for carrying the belts all the time, or were they just sent seperatly? This was asked a while back, by me, I think- EQ said that him and Typhoon had responsibility of the belts. According to a story I heard (not from Quake), one of the Nasty Boys actually GAVE AWAY one of their tag titles the same night they won them. Quake, a rambling question for you: One of the main criticisms that William Regal had of the OVW wrestlers is that they only know one style of wrestling; that is, the WWE style. He suggested that his advice to them would be to quit and tour Japan, UK, etc to learn more styles. Would you agree with that assessment? And how did working in Japan post-WWF, pre-WCW change your style?

Hi John, All the best to you, thanks for taking the time to answer questions, I read all of the comments you post, it provides great insight to a wrestler's life. In your time in Japan, did you get a chance to ever wrestle with Stan Hansen? Did you get to know him at all and if so what was he like?

I wish I'd read this thread first before asking about 'Quake's sumo career. I still think that is fascinating.

Keep it up Taylor, and good luck.
I didn't buy a copy of the belt.
Never met Superstar. Check the internet for what he's doing.
PLEASE! No more questions about what a wrestler is like, and what he's doing. I have no clue what ANYBODY does. No offence, but keep the questions to something I MAY know the answer to. (No calculus please)
Clotheslines are easiest, and IF done right can get a pop. If done poorly, you suck!
Yes Shiori, I'd agree that different styles are an asset. In the world of WWE something like that could set you a world apart from all the other wrestlers that look like clones in regard to their styles looking the same. Benoit is an excellent example with his smooth combination wrestling. I always want to see what he'll do next, or how he'll counter. I never got back to my old Japanese style after I wrestled in WWF. It ruined me, and I never worked my hardest again. Good question.
Stan and I are good friends. I wrestled him quite a few times in Japan. A funny story, when I was still green, he was going to hit me with a chair. I told him make it look good so I wouldn't look stupid selling it. MISTAKE! He hit me once HARD with the chair, and as I was going down, the other four shots I got before I bumped hurt just as bad!
Sorry you were abused pk. 'Quake

But I do have another question that isn't about another wrestler.. I have always wondered what it is like inside a Pro Wrestling ring. During the time when Heidenreich was looking for "friends" from the audience it seemed like they were bouncing around a lot in it. And to do the high risk moves, it has got to have quite a bit of give... right? I've been on an amateur wrestling mat enough to know what that feels like, but never been inside a Pro one. Just curious as to how it feels. Good luck with your treatments, too. I'll be praying for you.

No problem ts. It's just although I'm a wrestler, and have met many others, I don't know them all. All rings are different. Some are actually very hard, while others are too soft- kind of like Goldilocks and the three bears. Still haven't found the one that's just right, but in my old WWF days they were pretty darn close. But then when I returned as Golga they were a lot more stiff. Then the WCW rings were too small, I preferred the bigger WWF rings. WWF used real ropes which I preferred over WCW's cables, as they gave more spring off the ropes. You're right in that they need some give for the high risk moves, or else it would be like jumping onto concrete. I know this didn't clear everything up, I guess it's different rings for different folks. 'Quake

Hey Quake, wish you well. Any thoughts on the Royal Rumble? Predictions for this one? And how did you like it yourself? From your standpoint, was it fun to be in there, when you were one of the entries?

I don't keep up to date at this time, so no comments as I don't know the matches, or participants. I enjoyed the Rumbles. Vince used to work everything so well. Fans couldn't wait to see rivals get hold of eachother, and sometimes they'd be eliminated just before the rival came in to the ring. He kept everyone guessing, and watching that curtain to see who was next.

Quake,
Was the Rumble more fun to participate in than Wrestlemania or Summerslam?

I read how some wrestlers like Randy Savage were really detailed move for more on the match. Other wrestlers like a Flair would adlib a lot of his matches. What was your style for calling a match ? Also, I was curious to how a Royal Rumble match is choreographed. Like would go in there knowing how long you were supposed to stay in and who you were supposed to throw out ? I always wondering if there was a backup plan if the "supposed winner" got accidently thrown out.

Quake, I know many wrestlers have been sereously injured in matches before, is there a code word or like a motion you make if you are really hurt?

Hi John,
I when I was 12 years old i met you at a house show (12.13.92) in La Crosse, Wisconsin and you were so kind to autograph a card for me, still to this day i have that card framed in my office at work. Thanks for taking time to sign it...
Any ways, my question is how long in advance did you know that you were going to get the tag titles in the summer of 1992 w/ WWF and when you got them did you know that you were eventually going to give them back to Money Inc.
Thanks, take care and all the best!
Jake J

Dear Quake,
Do you have a current favorite wrestler on the roster?
