I was never a real powerlifter, I just weight-trained. My heaviest bench was just over 400, squat-600, deadlift, 400. Not great, not bad, all natural of course. 'Quake Don't let his modesty fool you. I weight lift... that's a hell of a lot. With the exception of one guy, those stats would smoke anyone in my hometown gym or my college gym.

One quick question, Quake
I'm trying to create you as Golga in the new Smackdown game (already made ya as Quake), and I'm wondering if you ever wore anything besides a Cartman shirt in the gimmick? I'M REAL picky about my creations, they have to look perfect....and its pretty impossible to "draw" Cartman with the designs they give you. Thanks, big guy, and hope you're feeling well.

Watching HHH, Billy Gunn, and Chyna work out was impressive. Not superheavy weights, just intensity.
Savage was married to Elizabeth before the SS.
In Sumo, I did cleaning, cooking, and looked after a sr. wrestler. I snored so soon had a private room, but my things always seemed to be rummaged through. My record was due to a number of things- My wrestling experience, size, power, balance, etc. and the fact that at the bottom of the ladder I started by beating kids that were terrified of me!
I guess Golga was Vince's idea. He was against another "Earthquake" return. I liked it okay, ICP sucked. Big egos.
I let most big names slam me- Hogan, Warrior, Sting.
Facing Beverlys was just another match to me to tell the truth. I didn't see much change in Warrior.
Well 400 sounds great, but I weighed about 350. Still though, I'm proud of those weights as they were done naturally, and at 6'7" that's a LOOOONG bench. I didn't just move the bar a couple of inches per rep. That's almost a couple feet from chest to extended arms. There, no modesty!
Sorry, Golga was all about Cartman.

Quake, you say your 6'7" and Hogan is 6'7"-6'8", but when I saw Hogan and Vince face off at Wrestlemania 19, McMahon was as tall as him. Did Hogan shrink or is Vince that damn big?

Hey Quake, Did you ever have any input on your singlets in WWF? Or were they designed for you? I know you wore a few different ones, basically the same styles...but did they let you have a say as to what the graphics and such would be?

‘Quake. Thankyou so much for your response to my Qs. It is so great to know that even though you can’t sit at a computer for long periods at the moment, you get to read all our postings and answer our questions. In return, a massive message of support in your current fight. Looking forward to positive web postings throughout 2006!
Just two supplementary Qs related to your sumo answers. I believe there was a 400-pound wrestler at Sadogatake when you were there called Kotogaume. He was about the fourth rank in sumo. Was he the wrestler you attended upon? Even if not, how tough was he in training?
Wishing you all the best as ever, Quake, CG

You put up with a lot of things in your career, does Vince and Eric Bichoff still keep in touch with you since you were a pretty loyal guy in the term of gimmicks, or is it like err your no good to us.
Ever thought about being inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame, what would that mean to you if you were?

Quake, you say your 6'7" and Hogan is 6'7"-6'8", but when I saw Hogan and Vince face off at Wrestlemania 19, McMahon was as tall as him. Did Hogan shrink or is Vince that damn big? In the Feb 2005 issue of Allure magazine Hogan said: "I used to be 6ft 7, but after knee, neck and back surgeries I'm now about 6ft 4". I don't think they were the same height takerfan, to me Hogan looked 2 inches taller than Vince and that would make Vince 6'2 since Hogan himself has said he is now 6'4". However personally I think Hogan was never taller than 6'6 in his prime. He was even listed as that once on a card featuring him and Andre. Most serious estimates for Andre's height give him 6'10-6'11 and in a book by Dave Meltzer he said Andre was measured at 6'9.5 when he was 24 years old, and that he probably peaked at 6'10 or 6'11 To me Quake always looked a bit taller than Hogan.

Earthquake! I don't really have a question, I just wanted to say that when I was 5 years old (1991), the first wrestling event I ever attended was at the Capital Centre in Landover Maryland, and you fought Hulk Hogan in a stretcher match with Andre the Giant at ringside. Of course Hogan had to cheat to win by hitting you in the back with one of Andre's crutches lol. I was only 5 but I'll never forget that.

I was born in July of 1985, the event was in March of 1991 so I turned six 4 months later.

Hello Mr. Tenta or Earthquake (First question - which do you prefer?!)
My name is Peter. Been following wrestling since i could see. If replied to, you would be the first wrestler i would have spoken to and can i say it is a huge honour in advance.
As you know wrestling is very big over here in England and was at it's best in the late '80s to early '90s, culminating at the huge Summerslam at Wembley Stadium in 1992. Your match with Typhoon against the Beverley's is one of my favourite tag team matches of all time (especially the elbow you gave to Beau on the ropes in the middle of the V.Splash!). Q2 What was the atmosphere like at Wembley & how do us Brits compare with the rest as fans.
Further on, in your singles matches, due to your in ring prescence, you were one of a handful of heels that I saw win matches fair & square. In today's wrestling this never happens as there is always cheating or interference. Q3 Why do you think this is? I find that one of the main reasons that you are such a popular superstar is that fans saw these matches, wanted to back you but were backing the babyface and when you became face, they felt like they had the starman on their side now.
Pete Elson
** P.S. On the computer game front, although you are not an official character, Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 has all the ingredients to create you as a custom wrestler including the correct font to write 'earthquake' across stomach, Vertical Splash finisher & tremor jumps. Now that's bowing to public demand.

I've read all 30 pages and all responses from you Quake, I don't think this question was asked. I'm really interested in hearing what your view was on the deal with steroids and pro wrestling during your time in the business. If you can could you answer the following; -Who were the most notorious users? -Any nasty stories involving the enhancers? -Did you ever use them? Why or why not? In relation to the previous question, what are you views on the passing of wrestlers such as Rick Rude? Curt Henning? Eddie Guererro? Brian Pillman and so on ... With the recent change in drug policy for the WWE do you really see anything change? Because to this day, I still see and know who is on roids and who isnt anymore. Wish you the best, C

I was wondering how much of a battle royal is worked. I know the winner is, and I'm pretty sure the final four and the first two are, but aside from that are the numbers really random or all worked? Is your time in worked? Can a guy who wants to make a name for himself just stay around a while? Or can a guy who wants a vacation or is injured come in and get eliminated quickly?
