Hey Quake,
I have a question you may or may not be able to answer: When Jacques Rougeau was The Mountie, he'd push the 'shock' button on his cattle prod during interviews, and you could see a blue wave of electricity being emitted, as well as a shocking sound. Do you know how he touched his opponents with the prod without shocking them? Did he put a cover over it or something?
I know this is a kinda random question, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

No I don't know him personally, I found his email address on Bobby Heenan's board if I remember correctly cause he left him a message and I thought hey I'll give it a shot and it was really his and he turned out to be a great guy.

Actually, I noticed something while watching an interview featuring The Mountie. Yes, he did use the cattle prod while doing the interviews, but if you watch during the match, you can tell the prod is different, in which case, it probably didn't have anything hooked up at all.

As corny as that gimmick was, I loved it. I've been on the hunt for a mountie uniform ever since.

Damn, I must have been lucky then to find one:  That man, with the tremendous sweat pouring from his forehead because he just ran his last cross country meet ever previous to the dress rehersal from which the picture was taken, is me. I was Captain "Big Jim" Warrington, male lead in Little Mary Sunshine. Picture is from our local paper, the Salisbury Press. -Ian |

The Mountie Vs Big Boss Man was a wrestling classic. Still, I think it would've been far funnier if he actually did use a cattle prod on opponents.

Mounite vs. Bossman = definite classic!! Who could forget the jailhouse match! "Do you like the way leather feels against your body?" cracks me up everytime, poor Mountie, at least he got an IC title run out of it, well for a few days at least.

I'm a little foggy on it but I believe he simply did not push the switch when used on his opponents.

I think like Quake does, I don't think he would push the button while touching the opponent. It's all for the fan's entertainment.

Not to disagree with the experts but I remember sitting front row at a house show (13 years later and I'm still bragging) and I remember hearing it make a strange buzzer sound like someone getting a question wrong on an old game show. It sounded nothing like the sound you'd hear on tv, and it could have been done by something independant of the actual cattle prod, but some how they at least had a simultanious noise. I don't remember seeing it happen on a tv taping or at a ppv so maybe someone else remembers it sounding differently. Any thoughts?  |

Aw man! I'm officially jeolous. Do you still have that thing? Unfortunately not, although I know our director has atleast one of the mountie outfits... Funny thing is, for our high school theatre awards, the Freddies, our costumes are nominated for best costumes. We also nominated for best set, best production by a small school and our lead, seen in the picture, is nominated for best female lead. Wish us luck! On another note, I was very suprised when I was walking around backstage and one of my friends starting belting "We're not the Mounties!" I never knew that he watched wrestling until that point. -Ian |

It's just black electical tape over the end. Same thing Hall did to goldberg, you can see it plain as day.
