Having just watched the Coliseum Video I didn't see Quake' cutting a promo . . . Hulk Hogan, Dino Bravo, Demolition, Tugboat and Mr.Perfect did.
This is my 2nd favorite Rumble of all time (because it was the first one I saw and I enjoyed Piper and Monsoon on commentary) . . . and Rick Martel lasted over 40 minutes somehow . . that was great in itself.
The Model winning the Rumble . . that would have been hilarious.

Yeah that was quite random . . . . . Monsoon: So its down to Davey Boy, Hoga . . . *Quake and Knobbs eliminate Bulldog* . . whoa . . .my mistake . . so its Hogan versus Earthquake and a nasty boy . . . . things don't look good for the Hulkster. Why was Saggs not in the rumble . . anyone know? . .

Is that when Saggs had that major injury that ended his career?

Knobbs was a last-minute replacement for someone, I think Honky Tonk Man.
Quake, maybe you know. Andre and Honky Tonk were originally supposed to be in the Rumble. Do you remember who the official replacements were?

No, sorry my memory is not so good. As for Sag's injury, I'm pretty sure that was in WCW a few years later with a chair shot by Scott Hall. 'Quake

I always preferred Saggs. No idea what they were like as people, I just liked him more for some reason.
He definitely wasn't injured for good in 1991 though: he went on to be tag champ between Wrestlemania 7 and Summerslam 91.

could probably figure it out . . lets see . . . . who was in the 91 rumble . .
1. Bret Hart 2. Dino Bravo 3. Greg Valentine 4. Texas Tornado 5. Paul Roma 6. Rick Martel 7- Saba Simba 8- Butch 9- Jake Roberts 10- Hercules 11- Tito Santana 12- Undertaker 13- Jimmy Snuka 14- British Bulldog 15- Smash 16- Hawk 17- Shane Douglas 18- Randy Savage 19- Animal 20- Crush 21- Hacksaw Jim Duggan 22- Earthquake 23- Mr. Perfect 24- Hulk Hogan 25- Haku 26- Jim Neidhart 27- Luke 28- Brian Knobs 29- Warlord 30- Tugboat
well Saba Simba and Shane Douglas seem to be the odd ones out maybe . . . . I dunno . . was Andre still wrestling at the time . . . as he wasn't at the 1990 Survivor Series
Edit: DARK MATCH: Jerry Sags defeated Sam Houston.. credit OWW

No Number 6? And I was sure Warlord was #30 in that Rumble.
I don't think Andre was wrestling by then: at Wrestlemania 7 he showed up to do a "run"-in in the Perfect-Boss Man IC Title match (then cuts a barely intelligible promo about "zat weasel 'Eenon"), but he was walking with a cane by that point, so I've gotta assume Wrestlemania 6 was his retirement from active wrestling.
Mind you, if you ask Hulk Hogan, he'll tell you Andre died in the summer of 1987.

Tugboat was definatly number 30 . .
Warlord was number 30 in the 1992 rumble

Knobbs was the only replacement in 1991, I think Saba Simba and Shane Douglas were just filler guys like Koko in 89 or the Rooster in 90. I guess the reason Knobbs was at the end w/ Quake and Hogan was that both he and Quake were managed by Jimmy Hart at the time.

Andre was, I believe going to do a one-time appearance for the Rumble, but his health just wouldn't let him. The official story the WWF gave, according to thehistoryofwwe.com was that he was injured while wrestling in Japan.

Don't remember the Rumble, but as far as I remember, I put Andre out of pro wrestling when I attacked him. Of course he went on to Japan after that, but only "smart marks" would know that. 'Quake P.S. Which means Ape and mercanary didn't have a clue! *Rimshot*
