I didn't really like the Artist formerly known as Goldust gimmick. I don't know it felt over the top and just stupid. And it lead to him leaving WWE and going back to WCW to be boring ass Dustin Rhodes again, although just before that they did the whole Palehorse segemnet and than did that terrible worked shoot promo. But The Artist gimmick just was so lame, the Bookdust gimmick and the original Goldust gimmick were my favorites. I'm with you on this one. I loved the original gimmick, and his stuff with Booker T far more than the Forever Unchained stuff.

Pat Patterson was best as a predator who would kiss men and fondle them. One name change makes it that much scarier...because it's all too real! Yeah cause gayness is terrifying isn't it. Quick run....a gay. Goldust really worked for me initially as a very dark and sinister character who would resort to anything to get inside the head of his opponent, when he became a backstage merchant in 'comedy' sketches, that's when like Goldust and I departed.

Ahh...it's nice to know I wasn't the only one who appreciated the Artist Formerly Known as Goldust gimmick. I always thought it was awesome.

I've actually been listening to TAFKAG's theme a lot lately because I just managed to find a really clean copy of it for download. His original theme was great, but his Artist Formerly Known As music was just so creepy and sinister--it's awesome!

Goldust in the 'E was mostly used really well - I even liked when he became Dustin Runnels during the Attitude era and began telling viewers not to watch this sick product.
Though I have to say from '96 - '98, around when he became the Artist, he was awesome and by far one of the most interesting characters of that time.

I've got three words for all of you who think Goldust was innovative:
"Exotic" Adrian Street

I've got three words for all of you who think Goldust was innovative: "Exotic" Adrian Street And with Adrian, you got the bonus of him referring to his opponent as "Gwendolyn" I'm still a fan of Goldust, however. I liked the crazy, mind-games oriented version the best, though some of the comedy was enjoyable.

Wow did you notice when setting up for the shattered dreams he kept looking for Vader, looks like Vader was late.

"That cat Shaft is a bad mother--" "Hey, shut your mouth." NEVER not funny.
