Chris Benoit vs Kurt Angle at Royal Rumble 2003 was one of the best matches I've EVER seen.

It's a great match, but I still feel uncomfortable watching matches with Chris Benoit at the moment. When I see Benoit, I immediately think of what he did in his last two days and that still disturbs me too much.

I haven't watched it in a while (for obvious reasons) but I remember it being an amazing match. Watched the PPV live and thought it was unbelieveable. That is how you have someone lose a match and be more over than when they come in. It really made me believe Benoit could be a main eventer/world champ

WWE are never going to write Chris Benoit from their history. That was never their intention. So his name being mentioned on the official website means nothing. The only thing WWE are doing is not advertising his name or likeness for any of their products. If they did, it would make them look worse (than they already do). Advertising him on products such as DVD releases or toys would be a stupid move. Which is why that if he is to be included on future DVD releases, his name or image will not be on the packaging, but the match or segment would be on the actual disc.

Fantastic match, better than I remember it. Though I have to cringe at the flying headbutt about 17 minutes in...

Another odd comment on a PPV. At ONS 05, Austin tells Benoit to "kill this son of a bitch [Bischoff]". Now, I'm sure that Kevin Sullivan thought that Nancy was a bitch and Benoit killed Nancy and Daniel, the only son from Chris and Nancy's union. So Kevin Sullivan and Stone Cold are apparently indirectly responsible.
BTW, this is completely not a serious post.

I think they have chosen to remove Benoit from some DVDs. Some have stated that the upcoming Steve Austin DVD was delayed because they had originally planned on including the Austin/Benoit match from Edmonton, Alberta. Also, I think if the Benoit situation had never happend then there would have been a pretty good chance the Best of Raw DVD would have shown at least a brief clip of when Benoit, Eddie, Dean, and Saturn all sat at ringside on Raw after just leaving WCW. Benoit had just won the WCW Championship when this happened and it felt very special at the time.

But when all the negative attention on Benoit (and professional wrestling as a whole) calms down, Benoit's matches and segments will be included on DVDs, but unadvertised. There's only so long they can go before they refer to him again.

I'd be surprised if they did remove matches and instead, just not advertised them.
If you don't give people a choice, you're taking away from it. There are people here who still watch Benoit matches and don't watch Benoit matches. If people want to watch them or not watch them, they should have the right to use their remote or mouse to skip the match or play to that match.
That's how I see it, but we'll have to wait and see for when the new DVDs come out.

Anyone got a link to the Benoit-Angle PPV matches from 2001? They had one at Wrestlemania that year, then at the following PPV I believe...

It was a really good match. That is a creepy line about the whole sacrificing his family deal in retrospect. Weird.
