i think Flair may be a bit past his prime than Sting..but thats not the point
i really don't think Sting would have to be heel cause i feel Flair has transcended that face/heel label, cause no matter what the guy does, people love him and his low blows, its who Flair is
would i like to see this match? sure do i want Sting to end his stint in TNA? not so sure about that one

No, I don't think the stalking type angle would fit well in this case at all. I honestly think it would be awesome to do it as a total surprise, one-off appearance. Maybe they could "build it" by showing video packages of Flair's career, constantly showing Sting as a big part of it. They could also show video packages about Sting when the DVD comes out, with lots of references to Flair. And never have Sting appear on WWE TV, even have him state in interviews how he will never work in WWE. Then, at Mania have an announced match up of Flair Vs Someone. I'm thinking someone of significance to Flair's career, but can't think of a good example right now. Have the match end with Flair winning to everyone's shock. The ring fills with Flairs old friends like Arn, Tully etc lifting him onto their shoulders, the crowd cheering. Flair takes the mic, tears streaming down his face with emotion, saying he will never quit, he's on top of his game and he'll face anyone-- when suddenly the lights go out. They come back on and Flair is standing in the ring face to face with Sting. Let them stare down for ages, as the crowd goes nuts. Sting takes the mic and issues a challenge for right there, right now. Have an absolute classic match, Flair loses, and gets a huge send off. So, then you'd have a reverse version of the booking from Black Scorpion? "Someone of significance to your career". Honestly, it's not a bad idea, since I would guess Sting's a name that even the most hardcore of WWE-only marks know pretty damn well.

I really, really hope that Sting will never EVER step into a WWE ring. I have a lot of respect for him for not having done it yet.
Flair needs a younger opponent anyway. Someone like Orton, Cena or Edge. Or put him against one of WWE's legends such as The Undertaker, HHH, HBK, Austin or The Rock (about as possible as Sting in WWE).
I really like Sting, but he should stay out of WWE.

Personally, if I had to choose, I'd rather Flair face someone other than Sting anyway.
Ending Flair's career should be a huge rub given to someone who could really take that ball and run with it. I'm thinking Orton would be the perfect candidate given their history, and the whole Legend Killer gimmick. But I think Orton is likely to be in the title scene this year, so it may not be him.
What's the point of bringing in a guy who has never even appeared in WWE before, and who will likely be retiring himself within 12 months? It's pretty bad booking, and pisses away the huge rub that could come from beating Flair and 'ending his career' for the sake of a one off 'nostalgia match'. Really not worth it.
And I don't believe that Sting is a big enough name to really increase buys for freakin' WrestleMania of all things. How many wrestling fans today know who Sting is, but wouldn't be ordering WrestleMania? If you're enough of a fan to remember and respect Sting, chances are you're gonna be ordering the biggest wrestling event of the year anyway. If you're such a fan of Sting, you'd likely be watching the show for Flair's last match anyway, no matter who he faced.
In all honesty, given the above I doubt Sting would boost the rating or buy rate for any show being billed as Flair's final match. Fans who know and respect the Nature Boy and Sting are largely the same crowd today. I don't think Sting would be a worthwhile opponent for Flair in this case.

stings going to retire him and then the next night on raw we'll have the wwe debut of the mysterious 'black scorpion' Ha. And an awful cage match will conclude the angle? About 3 months from WM to GAB

I agree with the younger opponent idea - although if this makes sense I think Orton would be too much of an obvious route to go down. I know he's the legend killer but for one they've already done the match on Raw, and secondly if Orton is booked against Flair it's almost a foregone conclusion for a live crowd that Flair would lose. Personally I'd have it be Kennedy who gets the rub. You are absolutely right than it needs to be someone younger to elevate them. Letting Sting do it would be the worst booking ever. A one off nostalgia match but for the WWE's current target audience it's not wise at all to do it. Have Kennedy try and get in Vince's good books again, bring up that he tried to pass himself off as the son. Vince says if he will ever respect Kennedy, Kennedy will need to earn it. Kennedy says I have the pefect way - by ending Ric Flair's career. Vince isn't initially sure of giving him the oppurtunity so tests Kennedy against tough opponents and Kennedy comes through them all - giving him credibility. Kennedy can then be made into a huge heel on the back of this. The next night he can totally crap on the career of Flair for even more heat, while the fans boo him out of the building. Would be fantastic. I think they may be going that way with Kennedy anyway. It's not often HBK jobs. He beat Cena on Raw and he even beat Edge after Edge cashed in the MITB and won the World Title. It's a huge win for Kennedy, and if they were serious about pushing him again then they would have to do it no later than right about now.

Younger opponent, yes.
Kennedy? No. He's proven himself ... as an unreliable one-trick pony.
I vote MVP.
Jed Shaffer ~Or CM Punk ... and have him turn heel on Flair afterwards. ;D

Have Sting and Flair reunite and form a tag team, only for Flair to backstab him. that would be on par with every tag partner Sting ever had.

If they were still going with the "If Flair gets pinned he's fired storyline" it would be really cool if Sting kept almost beating him, but then just about as he makes the cover he looks to the audience and can't do it because of his respect for Ric Flair. This then leads to Flair coming in with a low blow and going full on heel on him just like vintage Flair. This pisses Sting off royally who then does one of his vintage flexes after Flair chops him, so that Sting has a superman come-back. Sting of course wins and the two embrace afterwards. That right there is a license to print money.

They would definately need to do a serious hype job on it. The Raw 15th Anniversary made me realize that today's crowds are pretty much clueless to anything earlier than 2000.
That said, I REALLY want to see Flair/Sting at Wrestlemania.

Hey I will always mark for the nature boy and the Stinger but lets all be honest with ourselves Steve Borden will never do buisiness with Vince McMhon. He has said it many many times. The DVD will piss me off if they don't interviews from Sting and since he reportedly just re-signed with TNA it didn't happen either. So too bad for all of us. But on the good side of things Rick Steamboat is a WWE road agent. Maybe we get that instead?
