American Badass/Big Evil
I honestly thought this was less popular around here than voting suggests, I'm glad to see a few other crappers having liked this one best.
This is the incarnation that was the most interesting to me. It had the better storylines, promos, and matches by far. He was a heavy hitting main eventer that seemed to be more a reflection of who Mark really was, which showed through to me.

Western mortician. He really had the look down and was menacing as hell.

the original is my favorite, but i loved the whole ministry idea. the way he walked like a cadavour then would have a burst of speed and athletisism made the original taker seem way more supernatural, to me. and when the unholy power ideas of the ministry started, i felt like it was giving the story behind where all this supernatural power was coming from. of course the payoff of the higher power wasnt great, but everything up to that instant was awesome. I'll have to agree with you on this one. The whole Corporation/Ministry rivalry did it for me. It didn't make sense that they joined forces and then Vince McMahon, who Taker was givin' hell was revealed to be the Higher Power.

Todays Deadman. Looks the coolest he ever has (especially before the tight pants he has now) and is at his best in the ring. Next is "Big Evil" since he was finally starting to speed up in the ring, and could cut good promos...

In the Ministry hands down, Undertaker when he's pure evil is by far the most entertaining. Shame theres no chance of that happening again.

Ministry Taker was awesome in so many ways, him speaking in tounges and being straight up evil. Plus, the ministry was one of my favorite stables ever.

The original western mortician. More subtle persona (in comparison) to his later incarnations. His theme was EPIC without the overproduced thunder effects, and choir. A simple bell was more than effective to create an ominous atmosphere. youtube.com/watch?v=Hf1TysoPbR0Classic attire. What I don't understand is how you can see the top half of his face during his original years which looked AWESOME, but now for the all the fog machines in the world, they don't do that neat little visual with the Stetson. A shame really. So yeah, 90-94 Taker.

Western Mortician. He didn't summon lightning, teleport, or do any of that other crap. The only "power" he had was a high threshold for pain. Then they went overboard with it.

American Badass/Big Evil.
I was never a fan of the Undertaker prior to that so this a pretty easy decision.
The Ministry period was cool, though, as the Lord of Darkness made for a great heel.

As the American Badass or Big Evil he had more personality on put on some of the best matches of his career. I can't stand the supernatural version we have today.

Since there's no "all of them" option, it's a tie between the Lord of Darkness and Big Evil. Lord of Darkness was when he started talking more and became more "human" and Big Evil was pretty much Mark Calaway, except he was a big time heel and demanded "respect". Big Evil's promos and one-liners were awesome and I think that's a part of Taker's legacy that sometimes gets overlooked.

I am a fan of them all, but if I just had to pick one, I'd probably go with the Undertaker from the early 90's, since that's when I first fell in love with the gimmick.
