I remember first signing up to these forums and thinking how cool it was that we had earthquake on here LEGIT!
Not only that, but he was a damn good laugh.
Thanks for everything, In ring and out.
You give cancer a good run for its money, sadly it was one battle too many.

My manager and bartender down at work and I are both wrestling fans. He was AT Summerslam when Tenta bouted with Hogan...as a 7 year old kid.
He was also a wee bit surprised to hear that Tenta was only 42.
He bought shots. We toasted. We remembered. We will continue remembering.
Thanks for everything, 'Quake. Tell all everyone else that we all say hello, and that we miss them too.
Me, I choose not to spend my time not mourning, but rather remembering...laughing at Schiavonne freaking when Tenta tried to join Piper's group...laughing my happy ass off at Golga...giggling like a wee little schoolgirl at the ridonkulousness of Shark in the Dungeon of Doom.
Man...if wrestling is to lose a great individual and person, I think its strange that we have lost two in the last several months.
He will be missed. Hope he tells all our heroes 'hi' for us when he gets to the show.
Thanks, 'Quake.
A.E.

Another great man has fallen. Damn. As well as enjoying many a Saturday morning watching Quake squash the piss out of some jobbers on Wrestling Challenge, I actually had the pleasure of seeing Quake in action, live, a few times. The first time was after a WWF card at the Royal Albert Hall sometime in 1991/92, then around 1999 while he was over in the UK doing a few dates with a small independent company. I remember this particular date (at which I was working on the ring crew), Quake stayed in the ring once the show had ended and must have spent at least 90 minutes posing for photos and signing autographs - not once did I see the man sigh, roll his eyes, or give any indication that he didn't want to be there (incidentally, there were roughly twice as many people waiting in line for autographs than for previous 'big names' like The Bushwhackers, Yokozuna or Tatanka, all of whom made appearances in the past). Whether he was in a main-event feud with the WWF Champion, or squashing some jabroni in front of less than 100 people in the Armpit Of Nowhere, it seemed as though he was loving every minute of it. A true credit to his profession. Rest easy Quake, you'll be missed. A.C.

For all you've done as a father, a friend and a sports entertainer, I say "Thank You".
I'm sure that a lot of us can hope to attain the status of a true man among men like you have. You fought the good fight and shared it with all of us. Say hello to my dad if you see him.
God bless you and your family during this time.

John You were such a great wrestler im my book. To Mrs Tenta. Im really so sorry that he passed on. He will always be in our thoughts and prayers. My dad was John Tenta doctor, so I was glad that i could correspond with him before he passed. He was such a nice guy. Cancer sucks.
