**I posted this in the wwe current section too** ---------------------------
I'll let you just know this. I was on wolfies board, and before I left, I was heading the religion section of the board. One day, tenta did message me talking about what he talked about with his preist and him just making his peace with God.
I'll say this. I dont just post in threads just saying RIP, and leaving. If I have something to say, I'll say it. Tenta was a man not swayed, even though he had his troubles with this board, and the former poster known as Jack23, they were good friends and fortunately, Jack's attempt to have quake leave did not work.
I also dont do lengthy post but in this case, he deserves it. He was truly a great man

I just found out and it shocked me.
To Earthquake, John Tenta:
This is a terrible, terrible loss for the Wrestlecrap Community, Wrestling, and the World.
I didn't want to have ended up saying this, but: Man, God bless you Quake. Rest in Peace.

My heart's feeling a bit heavy right now hearing of the loss of our boy John. I think it was big of him to correspond with us...particularly me. I still have it in my PM area that first e-mail I got from him where he was hocking that Mangosteen juice...and the conversation he and I had on that jackass Kevin Trudeau (by the way, I'm doubly pissed since that bastard has ANOTHER book out)...it was great to talk to him on here...and how we surprised each other with as much as we had in common...albeit kinda small and miniscule. He was a third (John Tenta III) and I'm a third with my name. His birthday being the day before mine (sad he didn't make it to his)... I dunno...it was great to have him here and I gotta send some thanks to R.D. for having him here. So in conclusion...I'll be drinking a cold Budweiser in his honor later tonight. Here's to you, John. -John "Mad Johnny Maxx" Kloppenborg III

An incredibly kind man who has given us so much.
It was an honor to chat with John on several occassions and was amazing to hear and follow his incredibly strong fight against cancer.
He will be missed but never forgotten.
RIP John.

I always meant to post in this forum while the great Earthquake was alive. Unfortunately, I never did. I think I was some what intimidated by the presence of a true wrestling legend on the board and was afraid I would not know what to say. I guess I thought there would always be time, but as life painfully reminds us over and over again, there is never enough time.
I am devastated by this news, but have stopped crying now enough to post my toughts on the topic.
John Tenta the wrestler is not why I am so hurt by his passing. Do not get me wrong, I am not trying to denegrate his legacy in wrestling. He was a very good big man worker and was a solid hand in every federation he worked in. His body of work still holds up to this day.
John Tenta the person is what mattered and is why I am crushed. He was one of us, a crapper. In a business filled with people who need to kayfabe their whole lives and take their work way too seriously, John Tenta was never afraid to shoot and share his true life and feelings with us. Tenta could laugh at himself and wrestling and he was willing to share that laughter and his experiences with all of us.
Eddie Guerrero passing away hurt me deeply, but Tenta passing has obliterated me. Unlike Eddie and other wrestlers who passed away due to decisions they made in their lives, Tenta was just a guy who life handed a raw deal to. Eddie and other wrestlers may have been better in the ring than Tenta, but none were better people and certainly none of them loved us as much as Tenta did. I never read a single story about unprofessionalism or negative incidents with Tenta and fans, some thing I can not say for most other legends who have left us far too soon.
I do not know if Tenta is in a better place, but I do know his pain is gone now, We must take that pain up for him, but as all things the pain will pass. Unfortunately. the pain is even worse for the family and friends of this great man. I wish them the best and I wish there was something that could be done to help them through this.
Rest In Peace John Tenta

You might not of been a "wrestling god" or "the immortal" John Tenta, but you left a bigger mark on the sport as a wrestler that really cared about the people who love the sport itself then probaly anyone who has or will ever live. Thank you Mr.Tenta people like you make be beleave in heaven.

John,
I'd like to thank you for all that you did for us. In the ring, on the screen, face to face, or in giving us the pleasure of your company, knowledge and good humour by coming onto Wrestlecrap and talking with us.
I am sorry that I didn't come to this board as much as I would've like to. I certainly know I've missed out on a lot.
My prayers and condolensces are with your family,
May you be at peace, and thank you.
- Rich

I met John Tenta at the first wrestling show I worked as a manager. He came in to the locker room and shook everyone's hand and introduced himself, which for those who don't know, is the proper locker room ettiquette that many superstars think they're "above". Mr. Tenta was a very nice guy, and my condolences go out to his family.

Once I read the news, I came here immediately.
I know that, somehow, someway, John is able to read this from Heaven, and I want to take this time to say how much of an inspiration he was. His fight, which we have all been privy to through his posts here, has shown that its important to be positive through all the hard times in the world.
My sincerest condolances go out to his family and friends. We will all miss him.

I am Just speechless.
After a long day at work, I decided to check the boards, and i almost fell out of my chair in shock. This is truely a sad day.
This even tops "Eddie Day" to me. I didn't know John, but I felt a subtle connection to him. I remember reading a post, replying to it, and having John respond to it. It made me so happy to know a true legend in the business took time out of his hectic life to grace my comment with his brilliant, brilliant mind.
I miss you, John. I love and miss you, My distant yet close friend.
If his family ever checks the board out of the blue, Thank you, and god bless you.

I'm hoping he'll be put in the WWE Hall of Fame next year to be remembered for what he has done in the wrestling industry, especially for big men.
He was eventually going in anyway, as from what he said on the boards here, he was on a WWE Legends Contract. So maybe we could come together and make sure Quake is remembered for all of his accomplishments by fans who may not have had the pleasure to see him.

john tenta was a great, great wrestler. i never met him personally, but i always wanted to. i was just watching the video of him crushing damien last night, and i was explaining to my girlfriend who he was and what was going on (forgive her, she never watched wrestling until she met me). she said she thought he was really cool and wanted to see more of him, and i told her about everything he was going through today. she was going to get on here today just to create an account so she could post some things to him. i logged on first and read the news, and i cried. john will forever be a natural disaster and a shark, but most of all, he will be john tenta, a great and proud man.

We will miss you John. You left us with a lot of memories that we will never forget. R.I.P. and God Bless
