See, to me... what made Andre great was that he didn't have to do anything utterly spectacular looking to be devastating, he just had great timing, and an undeniable "it" factor. Not to mention that he was booked logically. An elbow drop from Rey Misterio isn't going to do nearly as much damage as an elbow drop from a 500 pound behemoth. I think this type of booking could help Khali in the same manner.
I by no means expect Khali to but out a plancha or a 720 moonsault off the ropes onto flaming tables, but I think he needs to learn to be more of a "Giant", if that makes any sense whatsoever. I'm no expert by any means.

Hmmm...isn't Bollywood BIGGER than Hollywood, ie makes more movies per year and is seen by more people? He's the most successful crossover wrestler of all time already! If he comes back, and quite frankly all the folks on the Intraweb with their "Waaaah but he can't work!!" malarkey don't deserve King Khali, a comedy/face gimmick of Bollywood Khali would rule. Have him signing autographs, gettin' the babes...then Carlito makes fun of his movie and gets BRAIN CHOPPED. I'm not a film student, but I fancy myself as a film snob, and last I checked, I do believe Bollywood is proportionately bigger than Hollywood, much like how a well made indie flick can make more than a huge blockbuster movie. I think it's awesome that he's so revered in India. Reminds me of all the old stories of kids following Luchadores around in Mexico. |

i absolutely have to see this. khali is pure liquid brilliance, and him in bollywood will be fantastic.
and BTW, i would really be up for a khali face turn. have him be like a more friendly version of what the sandman was a while back. just have him come to the ring and brain chop people, then leave. maybe have him as a bit of a comedy gimmick, but one who people take seriously because of how he wrestles. film some really cheesy vignettes of him saving orphans from a fire, or lifting a car off someones foot, before saying something in indian and having the english speaking people around him just go "yes khali, you really are a hero of our age" or something, to add to the cheesiness. that would rule.

Good that he's go to go to India to film a movie. Good for him. Good for us all.
Even after all the praise he gets for being a great guy, I still don't want to see him wrestle. But I agree, a face turn could do him wonders.

Khali is like the Indian Hulk Hogan, except Khali isn't a douchebag. Khali for a Nobel Prize. Or a knighthood. Or both. Whatever the case, I think it's probably a very accurate statement to say Khali is one of, if not the nicest/most decent, human being to have ever been a wrestler. |
