I think everyone should go out of their way to watch "AWA Classics" on ESPN Classic. Shawn was at the infancy of his career here and to see how far he has come as a performer is just incredible. When you see him next to Scott Hall in those days you would have never imagined Shawn would have been the future HOF while Scott is a future canidate for Celebrity Rehab.
Lets not forget that Flair isn't excatly a saint either. He brought the NWA belt to WWF. That's just a slap in the face to the promotion that made Flair who he was.

I am/was a Bret Hart mark. Having said that, I will never deny Michaels' phenomenal ability and charisma. As for Montreal, as far as I'm concerned, its all forgiven, maybe not forgotten. He deserves to retire Flair, although the WCW fan in me wants it to be Sting somehow. LOL why does every topic have to be prefaced with that? Can't I like both Bret and HBK? |

I lost alot of respect for Shawn and trips after montreal. Im sure if the situation was reversed, bret wouldnt have screwed shawn or trips over on the finish. He even said it himself in a shoot interview. Anyways, as far as shawn goes with his runs, his DX days circa 97-98 were his best IMO. I never liked him as a sissy face as the rockers, boyhood dream shawn in 96 or even now. He always best as a cocky jerk heel. i suppose you know bret personally and know exactly what he'd do in every situation right? anyone can say anything in a shoot that doesnt make it true |

Just wanted to say that Montreal does not affect my (high) opinion of Shawn as a performer, and nowadays, a person. |
