I said it once, I'll say it again... all current wrestling themes and most ever, all suck. Especially TNA's music... The guy just writes songs based off of riffs, melodies, and structures of other pop songs... He squeaks by being a plagiarist... unless TNA pays royalties to all these different companies/entities that own all these different songs on which he bases ALL of his songs. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dale_OliverBased on that list, I assume Dale Oliver is a big Tool fan.

Agreed, and the worst thing is that their previous theme was much better.
I also hate the new(er) versions of Styles and Angle's themes as well. Angles music was awesome until they added the rap which completely doesn't suit his character at all.
Saying that, I love Samoa Joe's re-mixed theme.

A friend of mine who is a fan of theirs thinks they purposely gave them shitty music as more punishment for refusing to blade.

And I may have been missing the point, but was there any relevance to the year 1967 that connected it to the MCMGs?

I assume Dale Oliver is a big Tool. Fixed for truth. His ripoffs suck. They sound like flipping MIDI tunes.

Besides that 1977 was a damn good punk rockish song by a band from the Detroit area. Pretty much. Other examples of Dale Oliver's inability to not even avoid ripping off the name of the song or even the name of the artist include: "Iron Clad" (Iron Man) "USA Made" (Born in the USA) "2003 Space Astrology" (Also Spach Zarathustra a.k.a. the theme song to both 2001 A Space Oddessy and Ric Flair) "Spirit" (Smells like Teen Spirit) "I'm Hott" (So Hott) "Offspring" (Come out and Play) "Manson" (Disposable Teens) "Born and Raised" (Born in the USA. Yes, that's right, Dale Oliver ripped off the same song TWICE) "Smack" (Bad Religion (by Godsmack)) "Deep" (Perfect Strangers) Not really a slam against TNA, hell I don't really mind badly-inspired instrumental rip-offs most of the time, but damn man at least try to pretend that you're being discreet about it.

I still shake my head every time I see that Scott Hall's theme was based on "Sober."

You know what has alway irked me? James Storm's music is a rip-off of Electric Rodeo by Shooter Jennings. I mean, it goes to a whole new level when you rip off obscure artists. Everyone knows who Manson and Godsmack are, but Shooter?
I also wish Angle would just use Lunatic Fringe instead of his weak version of it. It would just bring him one step closer to being the pro version of Mathew Modine in Vision Quest.

I think the bigger issue here is that MCMG have become RockNRave-esque in their style of jobbery.

I loved Raven's rip-off of his WCW theme (which was a rip-off of Come as you are). It suited his character well.
I wish TNA's theme music wasn't so generic sounding.......I also wish WWE had less post-grunge/nu-metal theme music too.....but that's a different story.
