Sure are! Cheese sammich? We the people of Earth love cheese sammiches more than any other variation on the sammich motif. There was cheese on the sammich. There was turkey there, too.

Actually, since this is "Post A Pic," here's that train station - Today: And Yesterday: A lot has changed in just one day. I know Detroit is a wasteland, but to deteriorate that quickly? Insane.

Oh, absolutely I have. It's awesome to just look into and imagine what it was like when it was the most bumping train station in the country. I've tried to break in but that crap is blocked off and way dangerous. I got a giant gash on my palm and tore my favorite pair of jeans once trying to get into it. A friend of mine got up on an awning.. completely stupid and dangerous, but he's the only person I've known to remotely succeed in getting in. You should google "DETROIT URBAN EXPLORATION" as you're bound to find folks who were successful and took plenty of nice pics, as well as of the dozens ... hundreds of other once awesome, now abandonded buildings in our formerly riot infested city of Detroit. (sigh, and to think we were known as the "Paris of the U.S.A.....") First off, that picture you posted must've been taken during the late 80s or early 90s because it looks farrr worse in there now than it did in the picture you posted. I went last October and it was pretty easy to get in. My friend Danny got a gash on his hand too when we were pulling up the fence that surrounds it. That part gets pretty scary when you see how close you are to the barbed wire. It was way too dark to take any good pictures when we got in. We ended up walking up all the stairs and we got all the way to the roof, that was freakin awesome. Such a great view of the city! I was sooo scared the whole time we were in there, I was afraid that some homeless guy was gonna come after us. We tried going back over the summer but I guess they put up a new fence around it that makes it virtually impossible to get inside. But the building was beautiful and it was an experience I'll never forget. You could tell how beautiful the building once was, and in many ways still is. It would be really great if they could renovate the thing. Fun fact, a scene of the 2007 movie Transformers was filmed inside of it. And part of the new Kid Rock video, "Roll On", was filmed there. By the way, we went to the abandoned Eloise Insane Asylum in Westland over the summer too, if you're familiar with that. The cops came and we're all going to court next month for trespassing, so don't go there!

And I'm pretty sure the police have found multiple dead bodies there, hence the security they post around it. I love the fact that it's in discussion as a new police station. I've had friends go into Eloise before, said it was scary and such. I wasn't too interested in going there :-P What city you in?

Hm. Compliment appreciated, Dr. T. Though for future reference you should know your safety would not be put in danger for having said anything directly... There is no Hobo who might be "gunning for" any male slightly resembling a suitor of mine. Well, besides the ones who sleep in Hart Plaza in Downtown Detroit at night. But I assure you, none from Kansas. Not for the last 2 months even. I'm sorry. I hope that is not a touchy subject that I brought up.

Scary stuff. They have enough police stations, I wanna see them do something more unique with it. Just as I'm praying that they raise enough money to keep part of Tiger Stadium up. Eloise is lame. By the time we got inside there were already two other groups of kids there so it sucked the fun right out of it. It was nowhere near as scary as Michigan Central Station. I'm in Melvindale/Northern Allen Park, right by the giant Uniroyal tire and a couple minutes from the Lions practice facility. Although I'm usually at Eastern Michigan three or four days out of the week since I have a dorm up there too. How about yourself??
