It's funny. Maybe, but so is seeing a kid who hasn't the nerve to stand up for himself playing "pig in the middle" trying to get his cap back... That's funny? And you have the gall to talk about acts of douchebaggery?

The kid who turned rich and got the bully fired made himself just as bad as the bully the minute he got him in trouble with his boss. Maybe, but I've always been fascinated by the idea in society that actions in high school pretty much end there, and don't have any further repercussions afterwords. Not that I would go out of my way to get anyone fired who I knew was a jackass, but there are a few people I knew in high school that I wouldn't piss on if they caught on fire. One used to pick on an autistic kid who had trouble speaking correctly and would just randomly slap him in the back of the head for no reason. But he was a star jackass on the wrestling team so nobody really did anything about it. I have no idea why anyone who grew up with him should just forget about all of that.

I may have been bullied relentlessly, but that ended when I got sucker punched in the hallway and no sold it. Granted, I no sold it because I never saw it coming and got knocked loopy for a second, which meant that when I realized I was no longer walking in the general direction of my intended class I assumed that I just spaced out since I was kind of tired and missed my turn in the hallway.
When the principal wanted to expel the kid for hitting me, I told him in front of the kid not to since he did not really hit me very hard. Granted, the cut on my face and the black eye that I had while saying that told a different story, but it did what I wanted, which was to embarrass the hell out of the guy who sucker punched me in the first place.
He did not ever try to get his heat back either. I guess he assumed that if I did not think much of his best shot when I did not see coming it might not end well for him to pick another fight.

OK then when you're 30 and you get beat up by some dude do you call the cops? Chyeah. If some guys gang up on you and take you out calling the police is the responsible thing to do. You never know who has a gun these days. I like watching public fights myself...............I think deep down we all do. Its our animal instinct. ;D At the theatre I work at the big fights always happen on Christmas day.

There are a couple of things that disturb me in this thread. One, that it's somehow wussy to tell an authority figure if someone is bullying you or harassing you. Why do some people think that the only reasonable solution is to "throw down?" That line of thinking will get you killed one day. You should try to find a way to keep the situation from escalating into a physical encounter, and if there's no other solution or if your life is in danger, then fight by all means. That some people think that it's the only solution is incredible to me.
Two, that some people "deserve" to get bullied. Maybe they are a wimp, maybe they're mentally slow or incredibly fat, WHO THE F*** CARES? Why do they deserve to get bullied? To think that someone deserves to be ridiculed, to be stripped of their humanity, to receive mental scars that might take a lifetime to heal, is just inhuman. What gives you the right to strip someone of their dignity, or to take some sick delight in it? That's exactly why someone should champion their cause, a teacher, a security guard, someone, anyone. Of course, we live in an age of no personal responsibility, so if the teacher DOES do something, she'll get fired, because heaven forbid that the parents, or parent (I have seen many great single parents, so this is NOT an excuse for bad behavior), do their damn job.

I was bullied by one kid in school from the age of 11 to 16. He was just merciless with me. I don't know why i let him bully me either, because i was bigger than him and a lot smarter than him. I guess i just didnt have it in me to deal with it then.
I went to teachers and told them what was happening to me, but they just didnt want to know. This is probably why i now view most authority figures as scumbags. So when i was sixteen, i decided to do something about it. So i got him alone in the toilets and proceeded to break two of his fingers, Raven style. So not only did i hurt him, but i really freaked him out aswell. I got suspended from school because of it, but i never got any crap from the bastard again.
I do regret taking it to that extreme, but at least i stood my ground.

Back in the days of being in year 11, there was one girl who didn't like me because we used to be friends and had a falling out. So she said stupid comments when i walked past, threw bottles at me and so on.
In the end we became friends again, and she told me that i was the most boring person to bully ever because i never responded or even acknowledged her, so she gave up trying.
However my friend who she also bullied, used to respond by yelling back and flipping her off. So she got continuously bullied because the bully thought it was hilarious to get a reaction like that from her.

I got bullied during the early years of high school, though that was because I was really anti-social to most people at that time. I managed to be more friendly during my third and fourth year of high school, and that seemed to stop it. I did manage however to almost choke out two different people unconscious, while acting very calm while I did. One of my friends even told me that my face didn't change much even when I was apologizing, so that may be the reason why few people tried to annoy me after that, sadly. I don't like real violence much.
The funny thing is, the first time (the choking) was in a bus, full of classmates and our teacher, who thought we were just joking around since I was the nice one and class and the one being choked was the "class clown."

Had to quit school when I was thirteen because of bullying. Not so much what happened to me, just what I saw happening to others. Since then I've been in and out of units, been constantly on medication and it's accounted for three suicide attempts.
Basically bullying ruined my life.

I should add in here, that yeah, sometimes standing up to a bully is the right thing to do.
Some bullies are cowards at heart. True. So standing up to them, verbally or physically, works. I stood up to bulllies verbally constantly from year 10 onwards, and one guy who'd been bullying me for a decade I finally punched once and he never came near me again until he tried to sign my shirt on the last day (and no I didn't let him).
I'm not suggesting reporting it every time someone calls you a fag in the corridor. But serious incidents sometimes just aren't worth taking into your own hands. Life is not an after-school special, and not all bullies are pussies or cowards. Sometimes the other guy really is tougher than you and standing up to him will just make them beat on you more and get your ass kicked. THAT is worth reporting.

I say just take those bullies and give them a laugh. Let's put a smile on their faces!
