Turnabout is fair play. Besides, even in the movie, people regard it as offensive and weird. RDJ's character is doing it just to fill the role, not to play a stererotype.

Must had misread what I typed. I should I said I dont mind RDJ in blackface. Or anyone else. It's just a movie. Or Mickey Rooney playing an asian.

Oh, alright then. Blackface has lost a lot of its offense to me, since it's done mostly for the sake of mocking blackface, nowadays.

I really cannot see what the big "offensive" thing is here...If it is about the blackface...well whiteface was done by a pair of black guys and as stated earlier--if whiteface is allright then so is blackface......as for the whole handicapped thing--I still don't get it, the whole handicapped thing was done in more offensive fashion in a movie called "The Ringer" which is only about maybe 3 years old.......and let us not forget the WWE's own Eugene Dinsmore--who also didn't make as big a fuss despite the fact it's more offensive--yet all of a sudden this gets tagged?
Please.
total bullcrap.

I wonder if anyone boycotted "Philadelphia" cuz Tom Hanks didn't really have AIDS, or "Million Dollar Baby" cuz Hilary Swank wasn't really disabled.

The only problem I have with this movie is the liberal use of the term black face. When I think of black face, I envision the Al Jolson and Bamboozled type shit, not the theatrical make up RDJ wears.

I wonder if those same people would also boycott the Harold and Kumar movies because Neil Patrick Harris isn't really straight. And sadly I wouldn't be surprised if someone did try to stage a boycott because of that.

I'm not sure how many people have seen The Ringer, but that was actually sponsored and supported by the Special Olympics and was actually not all that offensive IMO. The Special Olympians were actually treated with respect.

Things in the world are offensive, get over it.
I understand the plight of some, but in a situation where people make a big deal over something you need to always ask one question to see if its a big deal
"What harm came from it?"
If the answer is someones feelings got hurt its overblown

.as for the whole handicapped thing--I still don't get it, the whole handicapped thing was done in more offensive fashion in a movie called "The Ringer" which is only about maybe 3 years If I recall both the producers and Johnny Knoxville of the ringer went to the Special Olympics committee for their input who in turn gave the film their blessing. Still I do wish that people would actually watch the film before getting worked up over it.

To be fair I didn't know The Ringer had the support and blessing of the Special Olympics, but even so I wouldn't be shocked if people still called for a boycott of it for arbitrary reasons.

Sorry, but I just got back from Tropic Thunder and defy any of you to watch the scenes of Ben Stiller as "Simple Jack" and not piss yourself laughing.
