They had started to cause pain about a week ago, and I went in today to get x-rays and evaluate the situation. They gave me the option of going to an oral surgeon where I could be put out or just have it done there with the nitrogen and the normal numbing stuff. Which is what I picked.
Then they said they could do it right then and there if I wanted. I accepted, and here I am, wisdom toothless and with gauze in my mouth and blood dripping everywhere! I'm Hardcore! ;D

You did the right thing. Why sit around for a few days "looking forward" to having teeth ripped out of your mouth?

You did the right thing. Why sit around for a few days "looking forward" to having teeth ripped out of your mouth? That was pretty much what I was thinking. They've been hurting for a week anyway, so why not just get rid of them now and just have the recovery pain and then it's over. Instead of extending it even longer.

I had all four of mine taken out at once. They were impacted, so I had to have oral surgery. Don't be surprised when your cheeks swell up and you look like a chipmunk!

I waited to long to get mine taken out, so I ended up getting 4 wisdom teeth and a piece of my jaw. But do what they say about not drinking through a straw or smoking afterwards. Friends of mine didn't and they got the dreaded dry socket.
Anyway, congrats on the procedure ... and prepare to spit out blood clots for several days.

Yeah, my teeth have been so screwed up my whole life (hell, I still have two baby teeth and the 2 regular teeth are in the roof of m mouth somewhere and never came down), that I expected my wisdom teeth to be all kinds of messed up. But they said all 4 came out normally, which they said was very rare. And as for the cheeks, yup, I'm seeing that. Good times.

When I took the gauze out, I looked like Judas Mesias in TNA with the blood running out of my mouth. I'll be honest, it was pretty sweet The guy told me that the worst part really is getting used to tasting your own blood. It's kind of nasty, but I'll deal with it. I'm finding things I can eat, so far, I have pudding and applesauce. That should make the blood taste a little bit better

It's nice and cold and the chocolate masks the taste of the blood.

Had mine out about 4 months ago, only had 3 so I guess I lucked out. The surgery didn't hurt at all but the next couple of days sucked witht the stitches and all.

It's almost time for me to get mine out. Probably in a couple of months. I almost wish it was sooner, so I'd stop getting myself jacked up about it. I'm totally used to the dentist and all, but you hear horror stories about wisdom teeth.

I'm totally used to the dentist and all, but you hear horror stories about wisdom teeth. It's only been about 2 hours now, and the numbness hasn't worn out yet, so I can't talk about the post-pain yet. But the procedure itself was nothing. I didn't feel a thing they did, I just watched their hands go back and forth. There are some sound effects though. You hear a lot of cracking and popping. But you don't have to see what it is, which is probably for the best. If you've had fillings done before, this was pretty similar. It was a lot better then I thought it would be.

Hardcore?!?!?!? I went in for my wisdom teeth being cut out and wasn't properly medicated (the surgeon put the mask over my nose and told me it was air, I was like screw it and kept breathing through my mouth)....they started surgery and I could feel them cutting at the back of my mouth! Now THAT'S hardcore!

Otherwise, I'd be busted open right now. As for those two baby teeth, you may want to get that fixed. If not, it could seriously screw you up (as it almost did for me about 5 years ago). That surgery made the pulling of the wisdom teeth seem like a pin prick.

Ugh, the sound! I had enough of that with cavities, so I chose to get completely knocked out when I had my four wisdom teeth taken out. So then, I was extra loopy and didn't realize the whole thing with the blood dripping out. Next time (hah!) I'll know not to wear a nice shirt to surgery.
Feel better tyfo! Watch out for (literally) biting your tongue.

If you don't then prepare to be the most nauseated you've ever felt in your life.

I had mine cut out when I was 18. I had to get them out early because they were pushing my other forward which might have made them crooked.(I have really straight teeth except for a few on the bottom front.) Afterwards I actually went home and slept for a while. My mouth was a little swollen but it wasn't that bad. I even got my school ID picture taken that day. I never felt any pain from it at all the next few days. I guess I just heal really quick. The coolest thing is that I had an extra small wisdom tooth right behind one of the regular ones. NOW THATS HARDCORE!!!!! Next time I go back to the dentist which is about six months I have to get a little feeling. It was the first cavity I've ever gotten and it is really tiny. Doesn't even hurt.

My wisdom teeth removal day was very simple.
I went in at 10 and they knocked me out with gas to remove my 3, since they couldn't find a 4th one.
Then when I woke up from gas-induced sleep, I fell asleep while my mom talked to the doctor before taking me home.
By the time I got home, I was wide awake, contrary to the stories I'd heard about wanting to go back to sleep immediately afterwards.
Sure, there was blood and it was a pain replacing the gauze every couple of hours, but it went rather smooth.
I don't think I felt any pain either, and I was up and out again 2 days later.
