PWInsider.com is reporting that Booker T will be unveiling a new title this coming Thursday on the live iMPACT! from Las Vegas, NV. The angle will be similar to what the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase did in the WWE back in the late 80s and early 90s with Booker this time getting his own title, which according to PWInsider will be called the 'Legends Championship' .
The WWE 'Million Dollar Championship' belt had only two holders in its three year history - DiBiase and Virgil - before being brought back and given to The Ringmaster in 1995. And we all know what happened to that guy. It will be interesting to see how the storyline with this new TNA title will be played out and how many times it will swap hands.

Booker T is a hell of a performer with a storied career.
That said, they couldn't find anyone better than Booker T to introduce this title?

Booker T is arguably a legend, I'll give him that, but it would of been a better idea from someone less arguable, such as Sting.
That said, it's kayfabe and all, so I'm sure the character of Booker T would consider himself a bonafide legend.

He's not Sting, or Rock, or Hogan, or anything of the sort, but he is a 14x Tag Champ, 6x World Champ, 4x US Champ, IC Champ, Hardcore Champ, and 6x WCW TV Champ, and has been an upper card singles guy for 10 years now. In terms of accolades, hes more than deserving (before you yell, yes, i know, it takes more than titles to make someone a legend, im just pointing out how storied his career has been, as hes one of, if not THE most decorated wrestler ever.)
But like it was mentioned, this is more Booker the character buying into his own hype and considering himself the be all end all of wrestling.

Yeah, I'm thinking the Booker T being given the title is to fit into his gimmick's ego.
He's been around a long time and is certainly a legend in the Tag Team division as Harlem Heat back in the day. However on his own, he hasn't accomplished that much and was more of a transitional on some of his title reigns.
He's a talented performer I give him that. Legend, that can be argued. Hell....I'd call Nash more of a Legend that Booker.

The belt is made of elephant tusk, because in his country, he is a big game hunter.

Hell....I'd call Nash more of a Legend that Booker. To be fair, he's accomplished a lot on his own, too. Was in one of the main events of a Wrestlemania against Triple H for the title, held the title himself for a fair run, was a 5 time 5 time 5 time... you get the idea. Nash is arguably a bigger legend, given his main event status in WCW and WWF, but wrestling can often be a "what have you done for me lately?" business. In that case, Booker T's been more relevent.

On topic, I think it makes sense for Booker to introduce this title, it's a very heelish move to pull off and if most think he doesn't deserve that should just add to the heat he receives for it.

legend title sounds so lame. Why not just fix the X division?

I'd laugh if somebody like SuperEric wins the belt off Booker and therefore becomes the "Legend Champion"

Ya Booker , and Legend in the same sentence makes me laugh. do you know how long he's been wrestling and how many titles he's held? Yes, and Million Dollar Man has held less titles than Booker, and I see him more of a Legend than Booker. So my point is titles mean jack squat. Booker has proven to be a steroid user, and a cry baby back stage because god forbid he didn't get the push he got in WCW in the WWE, and if my memory serves me right wasn't Bookers first reign a P.R. move cause Sonny Ono, and a few others were suing WCW at the time?
