I really want to upgrade to Blu-Ray, but I can't see myself buying a standard player when I can get myself a PlayStation 3 for a bit more. But, I can't see myself purchasing a PlayStation 3 for reasons outside of wanting to upgrade to Blu-Ray. Seriously, I guess I'm out of the loop, but have they come out with any great exclusive games yet for PS3? I've been waiting for the supposed new Twisted Metal game and I'm not crazy about Metal Gear. PS3 owners?
EDIT: I should add that I already own an Xbox 360.

I'm pretty sure you know the answer to this question.
There's nothing that distances the PS3 from the Xbox other than their crap Network is free, and Blu-Ray.
The games pale in comparison.
As it stands now, the ONLY reason to get a PS3 is for the blu-ray, but that in and of itself is not a bad reason to have one. If they ever do decide to stop shafting the fans with mediocre exclusives, it will have been a plus that you got that instead of a standalone Blu-Ray player.

Are you a baseball fan?
If so, MLB The Show is amazing.
God of War III is coming out.
LittleBigPlanet is cute, but the controls ruined it for me. However I would suggest to try it.
Playstation Network games are pretty fun.

Metal Gear.
It really just depends on your tastes. I mean, if you "need" a reason, there really isn't much we can probably say to influence you.

PS3 online is free, but all the good online games are better off saved for 360 it seems. -_- Don't ever change your username/avatar, by the way. TRIBAL. EDIT: Are you a baseball fan? GoWIII somewhat peaks my interest.

Also, some games I find are better with the PS3 controller than the 360 controller. Especially with fighting games like Soul Calibur.

Well, there is Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (and its upcoming sequel, which I'm really looking forward to) which is a great action adventure and still my favorite PS3 game, even though the difficulty often switches from too easy to downright frustrating.
I'm also hearing good things about Valkyrie Chronicles, which appears to be some kind of strategy RPG (at least I think so, I haven't played it myself), everyone except me seems to be ecstatic about LittleBigPlanet, and then there's Resistance 2 for any of your generic FPS needs. From games I have actually played, WipEout HD is a lot of fun.

One of the things I hate the most about PS3 is the lightness of it's controller. Here I was thinking they had perfected it last gen and 360 blew them out of the water, in my opinion. Are you talking about the DualShock3 or the SixAxxis? The DualShock3 is heavier and feels like PS2 controllers.

I was entertained watching someone else play it, but personally I thought it was really dull. That's just me though.

Speaking of which, besides Warhawk have they done anything with motion controllers worth mentioning?

When I picked mine up, the only decent Blu Ray players in the same area were the same price, so that tipped my hand. But since I don't really know your gaming tastes, I can't say yay or nay.
I've got a 360 and a PS3, and I like both of them.

Hmm well out and upcoming:
Resistance 2 Uncharted 1/2 Twisted Metal 3 God of War 3 Warhawk MGS LittleBigPlanet Crash Commando The Last Guy Super Stardust HD Ratchet and Clank
And more. I truly love the system for the games, and the games are why I got it over a 360. It has way more exclusives I want.
Also, the network has gotten to be really good, and it is stable as hell. There are no problems with it these days. It is free and it works great. People who say it sucks haven't used it in the past year.

LittleBigPlanet is fun as hell and with the user created stuff, gives a lot to do. Resistance is also a damn good game.

Resistance 2 is so much better than Fall of Man, in every way. Hell of a sequel. Plus 60 player objective based multiplayer is amazing.

Resistance 2 is so much better than Fall of Man, in every way. Hell of a sequel. Plus 60 player objective based multiplayer is amazing. The only let down is most of the bosses have patterns and once you get over the fact of how big they are, they lose their wow factor. Another thing, looking at things from afar, such as the Leviathan boss makes this game's graphics look good, but in truth, the graphics are only a small improvement over the original. But really, with all the things the put into the game and all the multiplayer and such, it is pretty clear graphics were on the back burner. Insomniac was too busy making an awesome game.
