The actual textures and stuff wasn't a huge improvement, but the color? It was so much better. Everything isn't brown. It looks a lot nicer now because of that.

Are you a baseball fan? If so, MLB The Show is amazing.God of War III is coming out. LittleBigPlanet is cute, but the controls ruined it for me. However I would suggest to try it. Playstation Network games are pretty fun. This times 100. The Show is basically the only reason my PS3 ever gets turned on in the FIRST place... When 09 comes out, myself, along with a former co-worker, are both going to get it and have ourselves a makeshift league, crowning the ultimate champion of the WSA for FE Warren (he TECHNICALLY won MLB 08, as I got moved to my new shop, and I still cite the fact that he got 1st overall draft pick, Albert Pujols, versus my first overall, Jake Peavy. Peavy got a career-ending injury 5 seasons in. He won 8 World Series' versus my 7.) Yup, even without actually PLAYING the game, I had more fun with MLB 08 the show than any of the other 8 games I've rented for it and actually TRIED to justify my $500 blu-ray player...

Some of the games on the horizon, like that superhero one where you have lightning powers, look pretty cool.
Granted, 360 has more exclusives currently, but the topic is PS3's selling points.

Oh, you mean inFAMOUS, the open world super hero game from Sucker-Punch, aka the guys who made the AWESOME Sly Cooper series for the PS2?

Do Sony or Xbox have new consoles planned for the near future (1-2 years)?

Do Sony or Xbox have new consoles planned for the near future (1-2 years)? I think Sony runs on a 7 to 11 year life span for their consoles so there is quite a few years left in the PS3. I am not sure about the 360 but, given its early start and RRoD problems, I don't see it having many years left.

They tend to give a system 5 to 6 years before releasing the next one, and then they continue to release games for the older system. I mean the PS1 still had games for it until around 2003 or so. Also, by life cycle, it means Sony builds the system for that many years.

I cant go with the PS3 because I cant justify paying 400 $ for a console and I dont care about Blu Ray. Its a shame because PS1 and PS2 were great systems I enjoyed a lot. I dont go with Wii either because I dont like the focus on motion controls and the kiddie image. Thus, I'm kinda forced to go with XBox by default even though I dont really like Microsoft. Geeze, no wonder why I hate this current video game generation.

The reason I ask, is because I probably won't get one till late '09 if that, and I'd hate to get one, if an even newer one is coming out. So if I wait a year (give or take) I should be good still?

You'll be fine. Hell, if nothing else, Sony has to continue to support it because of the money pit it has been.

I own one.
If sales don't increase two-fold after that revelation I don't think anything will.

with the web browser, you can watch internet porn on your TV I have a computer hooked up to my TV anyways. ;D The reason I don't buy a PS3 is Faceless. If I bought one we couldn't have 360 vs. PS3 fanboy arguements and hate each others guts because of it.

We are truly uncivilized when it comes to that.
My PC and my tv are in different rooms, so Hulu in my room is very nice.

Well, to be honest my brother JUST got that computer hooked up. I'm on the main computer in the den right now. Something about everyday web browsing just is easier on a normal size monitor to me.
