It's about 3 food items living in a rented house in New Jersey. Master Shake, is the self proclaimed leader of the group and seems to react before thinking, Frylock is the most mature member of the group (mostly due to having to keep Meatwad and Shake safe) but has been known to go crazy at times, Meatwad is the child of the group who gets hassled by Master Shake but gives Shake his come uppance every now and then. Carl is their neighbour and landlord. And Ol' Drippy is an overgrown piece of fungi who buys everyone latte's.
Questions?

He's from the later episodes where the ATHF doesn't appear at all and Carl is the main character, and then there's John Kruk for some reason.

I absolutely love ATHF, I just bought Season 6 and wish there was a ton more content on it but oh well. I dont really think you could properly explain Aqua Teen Hunger Force other than its an absurd show and you either get the humor behind it on you don't. But thats a generalization about anything comedic I spose.

ATHF, like the rest of Adult Swim, has gone from absurdist humor and downgraded into making an intentionally bad product, or going for tasteless shock value that doesn't work (see aforementioned "Frylock gets cancer" episode). It's gotten to the point where the main characters, the namesake of the show, don't even appear anymore. Carl is a fantastic supporting character, but not someone around whom you build a show. Anybody who's looking to get into the show should definitely start from the beginning, and avoid most of the new stuff.
On a side note, they showed some of the audition tapes for the live-action episode on Adult Swim last night, and the first Carl they showed was damn near perfect. He was even standing next to his above-ground pool.

Not that the stories before had much more of a plot, but the ones in season 6 just feel very disconnected. Much of the absurd humor that is present in seasons 1-5(for the most part, I find the cancer episode funny for the sole reason that Frylock legitimately has cancer and the serious undertone the show takes) But season 6 is so far out there, that I find myself laughing less this season. The same thing seems to be happening with Metalocalypse, maybe season 1 was just so good, but so far ive been slightly dissapointed with some of the episodes on disc 1 of season 2.

One of my favorite parts of the new season is when Carl gets drunk and sings Led Zeppelin.
"Bah bah badda doop, ooh, ch-kaa, booda dap booda dap boot dah doot da dah dah dadda doop, ooh, ch-kaa, booda dap booda dap doot dah doot dah dat..."

That is one of the funniest episodes of anything on TV. I haven't liked many of the newer episodes of ATHF but that one was classic.

The first few seasons were friggin' genius. Like, the first time I saw it I thought I was shrooming out of my mind. Then I watched some more and realised that they just didn't make other shows like that (for good reason).
I liked it.

Am I the only one who wishes they would bring back the Dr. Wierd openings? No, I too miss the good Doctor. Really, any kind of opening montage would be welcomed. Bring back the Plutonians....or the Mooninites. Anyone but Markula.
