So I'm seeing promos/interviews about that THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON movie and am wondering if I am the only one that thinks the ending is obvious?
They don't need to tell me that the ending is sad. Given the plot (he grows younger, the woman he loves grows old) it's obvious.
I think the only way it can end is for her old in bed or sitting down in a chair, with him as a baby. Both die.
I don't care if I am spoiled. Only way I will see this is on a date. That's not happening soon

They don't need to tell me that the ending is sad. Given the plot (he grows younger, the woman he loves grows old) it's obvious. I was invited to see this movie last night with my in-laws, and I declined for this reason. Two hours and 50 minutes seemed awfully long for something that was most likely going to be a bummer at the end.

That's kind of the ending. The ending also has her die in a hospital during Hurricane Katrina

Yep, they both die. He dies sometime before her though.

I've notice that all of the trailers show the Old (well young) Benjamin and the middle aged Brad pitt make upless Benjamin. The never show the Old (young) Benjamin even though the film most go their.

It's actually very different from the book. One obvious, it's set in New Orleans and not Baltimore. And he serves in WW2, not the Mexican/American War There's more, but I don't wanna seem like a nitpicker

You mean he doesn't crawl into a birth canal, turn into a fetus and then into an unfertilized egg? Lame.

I'm undecided on seeing this. I should see this because a) It's gotten pretty good reviews and b) It's Oscar season. But I don't want to see this because a) this has lost a lot of hype for me since The Wrestler and Gran Torino started showing previews, and the re-release of The Dark Knight as well and b) 3 f'in hours for a drama? I forgave LOTR because of the action sequences, but how f***ing long could you stretch out a short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the most boring author in history?
I like Brad Pitt as an actor and Cate Blanchett is my actress crush, but in the end, I'm not entirely sold. I'll need to plan out a day to see this flick rather than say "Oh, that's out. I should see it" because of it's length and I already know the ending. David Fincher better make this the greatest adaptation ever or I'll want my monies back.

Can I make a recommendation? For anyone wanting to see this movie simply because they want to see an Oscar contender, go see Milk instead. Best film I've seen this year (and this includes Button).

Yes, it was 2 hours and 50 minutes but it never really felt like it was that long. The scene taking place around 1941 and the 2nd World War was filmed in such an awesome way. Really cool stuff.
I'd like to know exactly how they made him look so young..around the age of 15 or so? Unless it was a look-a-like..even then, no one looks THAT much like Brad Pitt.
I think I might be biased as I really like period films, the 20's through the 50's are just too awesome. If I had my choice, I'd grease my hair and wear a suit and fedora any day of the week.

So when he dies does he end up as a puddle of semen? Yeah, then Marley the dog comes and laps it up. It was a great movie crossover.
