I like Rorscach's invocation of Falling Down. Thank you. ;D And it really IS similar, in my mind. I only wonder HOW MANY noisy people, screaming babies, and cell phones it took to push him over the edge. Theaters are like a "rude asshole" magnet anymore. People: YOU ARE NOT AT HOME. THEATERS ARE A PUBLIC PLACE, FOR THE ENJOYMENT OF EVERYONE. TURN OFF YOUR PHONES, LEAVE THE BABIES AT HOME, AND KEEP THE TALKING TO A MINIMUM. THANK YOU. What about that is so hard to understand? Honestly. I'm not defending the guy, or what he did at all....but I am saying that I can understand, especially with how lax theaters are regarding noisy/disruptive people, the guy's frustration. Difference is, rather than shooting up a theater, I stay at home, and deprive them of my money. QFT. Same goes for restaurants.

Wouldn't firing a gun defeat the purpose of quieting the place down? No, then EVERYBODY would be on their best behavior.

It was a simply a matter of time. I went through hell when I saw Cloverfield and I wanted open fire on the crowd.
I don't condone violence, but sometimes it is really tempting.
