Yes, Yoko Ono approved this. A commercial featuring John Lennon promoting the "One Laptop Per Child" campaign-Disturbing.

You can call me old fasioned... but I'm just not a fan of dead people in commercials shilling something that they obviously have no clue about.
But, this is at least not a pure shill. It's a sorta Humanitarian thing.
Oh, and at least it's not that like that scary Zombie Orville Redenbacher CGI stuff from a couple years back. That crap was disturbing.
But yeah, I don't like long dead people doing commercials, living people are annoying enough.
What's next? Is John Wayne going to start shilling Beer? (I know he already did, I'm bringing it up again to show the absurdity of the situation)

Oh, Yea, "Orville Deadenbacher" I emailed the company after seeing those spots and told them how disturbing and tasteless I found it to be(I didn't expect to change things, just wanted to tell them what I thought) At the time, they said the family approved, and this would pave the way for the same kinda thing in movies and such. Thankfully, I haven't seen this kinda thing since

"Imagine no possessions...LIKE THIS BRAND NEW MACBOOK PRO FROM APPLE!" ;D
Yeah this is pretty bad. Why does a poor African child need a laptop when they could need, oh I don't know, FOOD?

Or, to accompany their new computer, a power adapter to UTILIZE the computer... and maybe internet access to allow them the ability to do said research.

I think a child's ability to have free access to porn and Mr T Ate My Balls comics outweighs the need for lifegiving food and medical care.

I have to say that whilst that's weird it isn't the first time it's been done This man is called Bob Monkhouse, he was a British Comedian who died in 2003 from Pancreatic Cancer, This ad is from 2007, using a sound alike and CGI uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RmWtzfKcMpA

How so? It sums up Bob Monkhouse perfectly. He always had a laugh and a joke for any occasion, no matter how dark the subject matter is. His wife wanted the advert to be aired. So it's fine by me.

I like the message but the thought of someone seeing there grave and saying "Man, has it been that long?" is a bit uncomfortable.

Using John Lennon's voice, image and imagine to promote something I find totally redundant, unnecessary and "wrong" is an insult to everything Lennon (pretended to stand) stood for.
Children in Third and Fourth world need food, water, education and plans for a better future. Not a smurfing cheap laptop.
