So here's the jist of it. A couple of years ago, I lost my iPod Nano (2nd Generation) and haven't found it since then. So now is the best time, seeing as I am filling up my iTunes rather nicely, it's the best time to start looking for one. The problem is, I'm not sure what to get. I mean, the obvious answer is to get a Nano. Problem is, the older ones seem to cost a fortune and I'm not really sure about getting one of the newer generation. I'll only need 8GB and even then, it would be a cut above my budget. Not that I'm a cheapscate...just that I'm a student. I had a look around and found this, though. www.amazon.co.uk/Creative-70-PF2420-00-1F/dp/B001C9RY34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1230602022&sr=1-1Reasonably priced, long enough and good for what I want to use it for, which is to store my music. The thing is, though, I've built up a collection on my iTunes, I wouldn't be sure if I could upload the list I have to any other MP3 player that isn't an iPod. So basically, I once again turn to the 'Crapper community to get me out of this jam. Anyone have an iPod and do they like that? Creative? Zunes, even? And could any of them convert to my iTunes with no problem or would I have to gather everything by hand to do it? Basic requirements: 8GB and I'll be willing to pay, at most, £98/$142 (the price of a Nano on Amazon).

I've read that the battery life on the new Zen X-Fi is pretty poor compared to the previous model. If you do decide to go with a Creative player, you'd probably be better off saving £9 and going with the older one. That said, the Zen will have better sound quality and at least equal battery life. You'd probably have to ditch iTunes, but I think MediaMonkey is better anyways. I'd personally go with either the Zen or a Zune before going back to iPod. I had bad experiences with an iPod mini and 5th Gen iPod and don't think they're worth the extra cost over the players that Creative/Microsoft make.

The Samsung p2 touch screen is an amazing player with probably the best sound quality on the market. I loved it, but it wasn't nearly enough memory for me. SO with much regret I took it back.
To get Itunes files to other devices, download Media Monkey. It can convert them and is a pretty awesome player.

MediaMonkey is giving me trouble since I'm trying to install it now.
I install it and then it tells me it can't create a file called 'Preview' and another one called 'VirtualCD'
Really annoying and I have no idea what to do.

That is weird, I never had those issues at all. Since I never had them, I can't help with what to do.
