For those who don't remember; Showbiz Pizza Place was the main competitor to Chuck E. Cheese's Pizza Time Theater 'till Chuck e. Cheese went bankrupt in 1984 and was bought by Showbiz. Eventually they decided to abandon the Showbiz concept and that's why you only see Chuck E. Cheese these days. Showbiz featured the vastly superior Rock-Afire Explosion- the people behind the animatronics and music used in the show were really talented. Here's a site with the whole Showbiz/Chuck E. Cheese history, pictures, and a bunch of other goodies: showbizpizza.com/home.htmlThe Rock-Afire Explosion still lives on in fan-owned shows and the handful of remaining shows in local entertainment centers.

I'm quite surprised how many Showbiz tokens I come across from the token machine, even to this day.

The guy who did the voice of the Gorilla is a big celebrity down here Bubba "Whoop ass" Wilson is great. So is Jeff Howe. And here is an introduction on who did the voices. Filmed back in the early 80s
