what does everyone think of 808's and heartbreak?
i like the fact that he changes his style quite drastically for this album. Compared to his others its rather downbeat and i like the old skool sounding electronic beats and synths and even though im not a fan of vocoder vocals i think hes done it in a way its worked to convey his emotions.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of this new record.
Sure, he may not rap on it, but it's still absolutely brilliant. It cemented his talent for me even more than Graduation did.
One of my favourite records of this year, to be sure.

This was a lot better than Graduation to me and I've been a Kanye fan since I first heard him on the "We are the Champions" Dream Team track years ago....I still don't forgive him for putting those old lyrics on "Home" which really disappointed me as a long time fan....
This is definately one of the albums of the year for me though...

I thought it was terrible i mean maybe because i was expecting something different i know he was sad and all that but still I liked his last one better I try not to worry about expectations and just take albums for what they are. It tends to lead to a lot less disappointment, unless something is just legitimately terrible in your eyes. That's me, though.

Like it or not, it really shows some balls to completely and totally change his sound for this album. Luckily for him, it worked.

Ever since hearing "Hey Mama", I always thought Kanye should just do a straight up singing record. I like it alot.

He was upset at the amount of sales this record had, which isn't that surprising, as it was an experimental record by him, since he's now at 'legend' status and can record things against type.

It's an interesting record. I really love autotuners and synths, but beware: These lyrics are very depressing. Do not listen to this album after watching The Wrestler. I made that mistake today, and putting a noose around my neck was looking pretty appetizing.
Then I played Madden, and I was good.

Great album. I compare it to Beck's "Sea Change" album. Fav track would have to be either Love Lockdown, Heartless and Paranoid.
