the only thing I want to see in any Nightmare movie is to see Freddy just watching] people's nightmares and dreams, getting ideas.
that, to me, is infinitely creepier than some of the kills.
he just watches.
he does research

What's with every freakin horror movie having to be remade? Can't they think of something new in that genre?

It'd be funny if they went the Rob Zombie Halloween route and did 1 hour of origin and 45 minutes of the old story re-done. A "prequel" wouldn't actually be a bad idea. "Freddy's Nightmares" did it but i'd like to see it in movie form. Yeah, but it was very very tame.

What's with every freakin horror movie having to be remade? Can't they think of something new in that genre? Considering the endless sequels they made previously, I'd say no. I wouldn't even watch this movie if Robert Englund was involved somehow. NMOES is done. It was a good time, and all, but it ran it's course. It's time to try and come up with something new. Of course, the word "new" seems to be the only dirty word that still offends anyone in Hollywood.

Doesn't Englund want Billy Bob Thornton in the role?

Freddy's Nightmares was a decent show.
I wish they'd release the DVD's (UK versions are A) S*** & B) contain about 4 episodes).

I get a message that the video is no longer there, but I recognize from the "Mid-way picture" that it's the episode with the photographer who gets "help" from Freddy. That one is awesome indeed. I'll most likely watch the remake and try and take it as a 'separate' movie from the others. I did the same thing with "New Nightmare" and really enjoyed that one.

I'm probably the only person in America looking forward to this along with the supposed Child's Play remake.
It's probably just morbid curiosity.

I'm looking forward to Child's Play
Only because it's going back to it's horror roots, and not the abysmal Jokes Bride & Seed of Chucky were.

I'm not exactly looking forward to any of these movies, but I'm certainly not cursing their existence. I'd gladly see them all in theater if I had any friends that liked horror movies (yeah, they're assholes). But I am certainly up for ANOES, Child's Play, and while I'm at it, Friday the 13th and My Bloody Valentine.

Huh. I wonder what my good buddy TR is gonna say about this.... ;D If you read the entire thread, I've already had my shameless plug of my script. ;D I can't really say anything other than "good for them." I'll reiterate my opinion - the first Nightmare movie is very overrated, and hasn't aged well. Thus, this is actually a NECESSARY remake, and hopefully the people in charge of it like the series as much as I do. I'll also reiterate this - CILLIAN MURPHY FOR FREDDY!!! I BELIEVE IN CILLIAN MURPHY!!!

Cillian is a great choice.
Hence why they'll probably cast someone 180 degrees away from him. Like Matthew Lillard.
And I would like to reiterate: I don't necessarily HATE Platinum Dunes....I mean, I'm sure they have some nice people working for them, I just hate what they've done to some of my favorite horror films.

If it does not have Robert playing Freddy I won't even give it a chance. Anyone who stayed after NoES 2 deserves to be the star in every NoES forever.
