Wouldn't go as far to say he was better then Vick in his prime but his benchwarming days are over. That being said where could he land in the offseason or will he stay in New England? Franchised and traded. The Patriots have shown Evil Vince McMahon like mastery early on here. Apparently the NFL frowns on players being franchised just for the sake of being traded. So my guess is the Patriots were the ones who floated the rumor that "Tom is behind schedule" which contradicted another report that Tom was AHEAD of schedule. And TMZ just also reported that from everyone they've gotten a hole of in Tom/Gisele's circle, he's defintely ahead of schedule. So the Patriots could possibly being playing up the "We dont know if our QB will be ready to play so we need to franchise Matt Cassel" card, get the NFL and any players union greivence claims off their backs and trade him out of the division. Never thought of that. Interesting

I think Cassel's backup days are long gone. And he's shown in 1 season he's a better QB than Michael Vick in his prime let alone Michael Vick after 18 months in prison. Wouldn't go as far to say he was better then Vick in his prime but his benchwarming days are over. That being said where could he land in the offseason or will he stay in New England? Oh and the 49ers fire Mike Martz sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3800703I would. Vick was always a much better athlete than he was a QB.

I am shocked. I have thought he has deserved it since the Plumber disaster but, never expected it. I hope Bowlen has something huge up his sleeve. Oh, snork you Denver I despise it when franchises turn on their most successful coach when they are in a slump. Me too. This guy lead you to two Super Bowl rings. A couple of years and you don't go all the way, and now you are worth nothing. I mean, can you imagine Bill Belichick in, like, a Seahawks hoody? He's been in a slump for damn near ten years, how long do you give a guy? He has had full control to make this team how he sees fit and turn it into a winner and it hasn't worked. Yes did great an won us two Super Bowls but, since then he hasn't done squat.

I've only been following Wade since he has been with Dallas, I think he's done a good job in the two years he has been there, could they do better, sure, could they do worse, sure. I think it falls on the players at the end of the day for a teams success and failures So, wait. You say Wade has done a good job in Big D, despite coaches not meaning much when it comes to the games? Then how do you determine the coach's success? If they have nothing to do with the outcome of the game, how can they be successful? Coaching success = More wins than loses

Coaching success is based solely on how you do in the postseason and in big games. In that regard, Wade has been a complete and total failure. I'm praying that Shanahan ends up in Dallas next year.

ESPN is reflecting on his career like the guy died in a car crash or something. They also mockingly mentioned that Belichick should watch himself. If Belichick gets canned NE should rightfully go 4-12 for 8 years straight. I think Denver is gonna be worse off.

He won two SB which apparently isn't enough for anyone (spoiled brats) when Denver was as big an AFC loser in SB's as Buffalo. Now because he hasn't won big in 10 years nobody gives a shit about him anymore. I hate this mentality that because he hasn't pulled any more lombardi trophies out of his ass that he's worthless and should be kicked to the curb. I mean, there are 32 frikkin teams in this leauge and no one team can stay on top forever. This is Dallas's thinking. If they don't win em all they throw a hissy fit. Doesn't matter really. Because Denver WILL NOT be going to a SB next year if that's their brain fart strategy in dumping Mike. They act like it's soley his fault and not the fact that they had a bunch of injuries. Winning a SB should give any coach a 10 year extension or until he wants to walk. Mike should of gotten another 10 years. I hope Tennesse doesn't pull the same bullshit in the offseason if they don't make the SB or they lose the SB.

I think it was the right move of Denver..The guy hasn't done hardly anything since 98. I would go so far as to call him a product of Elway and even more the youth of Terrell Davis.

Our defense has been the drizzling shits for 5 or 6 years now and our offense not much better. Hell, he traded for and signed the entire Browns d-line once after they were at the bottom of the league! He traded for Javon Walker despite a bad knee, gave him a huge contract and then cut him two years later because he wasn't any good after the surgeries. Look at the Plumber crap, sign him to a 7 or 8 year deal and draft his replacement the next damn year. Hell, he has been getting destroyed in the division the last few years. I am not looking for Super Bowls, I am looking for good and he hasn't brought it in 10 years. For the last ten years, he has been living off of the Elway days and having possibly the biggest collapse in NFL history should be reason enough to fire him.

Rumors in Chicago have DC Bob Babich being giving his walking papers, to be replaced by Rod Marinelli. Basically, trading one Lovie smith yes-man for another.
