They're right behind The Beatles for me. I've seen them live 5 times...nowhere near enough. I'm still pissed that I missed Neverender though.
But yeah, Coheed is f***ing win.

Neverender was missed by many. I could have road tripped 10 hours but they scheduled it literally a few days BEFORE my birthday, a day which would have given me the fundage necessary to complete my journey. Touring with Linkin Park, and now Slipknot is unforgivable though. I'm not paying 40 dollars to watch them support drivel.

I actually like Slipknot. Not so much their early stuff, but Vol. 3 and All Hope is Gone were good records to me.
Plus, touring with HUGE bands like LP and Slipknot gets their name out there even more. I think it's a good situation.

It's not really an ideal situation for a majority of their fans, considering they came up in the scene (whether they wanted to or not). They've always had someone odd choices on tour with them, at least for the last few tours. (Clutch, LP, Slipknot) etc. I personally HATE Arena shows. I want them back to playing smaller venues, like the fillmore, or the warfield (around here in SF, at least)

I don't mind arena shows. I've only seen them in small venues, but it doesn't bother me that they're getting bigger at all, really.

They've definitely earned it. 4 top notch albums (5 if you count PFI), no sophomore slump. That in and of itself is merit enough.

Indeed they have. There hasn't been a low point in their library at all. Just...brilliant stuff all the way around.
I do miss Josh though. But hey, Chris is an excellent drummer too.

Josh has his own stuff to deal with. If anybody is expendable in that band, it's probably the drummer. Hopefully he gets back to doing a little Weerd Science stuff.
Pennie fills in fine and did a great job writing on No World For Tomorrow.

Actually, Pennie didn't write on NWFT. He wasn't finalized in the band yet, it was actually Taylor Hawkins from Foo Fighters that did the drumming for it.
And Josh is actually working on Weerd Science stuff. The new album was supposed to come out this year, but I guess it got delayed. The new songs off it are f***ing win though.
...so you should totally edit your first post and make this a Coheed appreciation thread or something.

Yeah. It was a common misconception at the time. He was tied up in Dillinger contract issues, but he did write the stuff. Taylor did a great job recording for him.
Chris just fits though, have you seen him live with coheed yet?

Yeah, I caught them last summer at Warped. He did a f***ing amazing job, even if their sound was totally off that day. Lots of technical issues. But it was still a great show.

I lucky had an opportunity to see them headline with fall of troy in support. Pretty tits.
I really hate arena and festival shows. It's universal for me. It's so impersonal that I just can't get in to it.
Chris really does destroy on drums though. When I saw them last he had like a 15 minute section where he just played his ass off.
