Your headache is a neurological problem which means you aren't really getting a headache from not drinking soda. it is all in your head. It is a thing you have to work out mentally.
Soda is addictive but not in the same way as other things. Withdraw is no where near as bad as say withdraw from cocain or something like that.

I don't really get the cocain comparison since there is a hell of a lot more to heavy drug withdrawl than headaches. No one here is claiming his headaches are anything close to a cocain withdrawl.

I realize its no where near as bad a cocaine or some other drug. And I believe its the lack of caffeine that causes the headaches...not soda in general. After re-reading that, its sounds kinda snotty. I dont mean it to.

2 days, and it wasn't a brain buster like most of my headaches. AS far as headaches go it was almost pleasant, just a dull ache. I also lost 60 pounds in under 2 months.

I am hypersensitive to caffeine, so I do my best to avoid it altogether. One big cup of coffee on a Monday, and I'll be bouncing off the walls for a few hours. Then, I'll wake up on Tuesday with a major headache. So I'd suggest just to cut it out. Places like Whole Foods sell spritzers and non-caffeinated sodas that have the bonus of being made with actual sugar as opposed to high fructose corn syrup. Sugar, as opposed to HFCS, is easily recognizable to the body as food and is a little less unhealthy than HFCS. So making the change to get away from caffeine affords you the opportunity to switch off of the major brands and their crazy ingredients.
