Alright, here's the thing: I have both Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour. Now, playing both of them, I realized something: They are basically the same game. So I plan to trade one in and get a new game. So my question for all of you: Which do you consider the better game and which should I turn in?

For the music, Rock Band 2 For the novelty of playing as Ozzy/Hendrix/Sting, Guitar Hero I'd trade Guitar Hero (in an instant) and save the money for Guitar Hero:Metallica
BTW: I also have both, and I'm playing Rock Band a LOT more

I have to say that Guitar Hero 2 is still my fav in the series. If they'd just have Hendrix, Doors, Ozzie etc as DLC for Rock Band, then that's all you'd need. Stick with Rock Band on this one.

Definitely gonna have to go with Rock Band. I think the gameplay is far better.

What's irked me about both of them is that I can't have as much fun playing single player, since the guitar parts are nowhere near as hard as they were when the game was JUST guitar.
That said, I appreciate that they want to spread the difficult parts around to each instrument, and I do love multi-player on it, but it's a bit annoying when I'm by myself and want to play that I can't challenge myself as much as I could in GH 3.

In my experience Rock Band 2 is the better game.

If you want a challenging guitar game with a lot more songs by well known artists, stick with Guitar Hero.
If you want a more fun game experience despite the easier difficulty in the majority of the songs, stick with Rock Band.
Personally, I enjoy the Rock Band games more than the Guitar Hero ones.

I have GH World Tour and Rock Band 2 both, and I think they both have their pros and cons.
I feel Guitar Hero is better at what it has traditionally done, and by that, I am referring to the solo guitar pieces. It you are looking to play solo guitar songs on the Expert level to beat your own high scores, GH is probably better. GH has funner guitar charts and they are more challenging. Sure they can be way overdone at times, but to me that is what I like about it. Plus GH has a more forgiving window for Hammer-Ons. This allows you to get more satisfaction out of nailing a ridiculous solo. Plus GH has evolved the guitar gameplay by adding the "hammer on sustains" and the open strum for bass. Two things that are simple, yet affect the gameplay so much for the better.
However for the overall band atmosphere, Rock Band 2 is better. The career (tour) mode in Rock Band is miles ahead of the Career Mode in Guitar Hero. Rock Band lets you be a lot more creative in creating a full band, selecting different cities as you want, earning stars by playing setlists as you decide, hire staff as you want, etc etc etc. The Tour mode in Rock Band is a very deep and fun game mode, whereas in GH the career mode is there just for the sake of being there. To be blunt, I don't even think Guitar Hero even NEEDED to make drums and vocals. I know they want the Rock Band market, but they probably could have gotten away with focusing on the guitar pieces and evolving that.
