During my lunch break today, I had to go to Wal*Mart. While on the check-out line I was behind two mothers and their kids. Cute kids, the moms let them get gum. Hubba Bubba, which they called "Hubble Bubble." Made me smile. Kinda needed it after the first part of work
A friend of the cashier interrupts her while she is finishing up with the people in front and gives her a note of some sorts, which makes her say "that 'crap' is nuts" IN FRONT OF TWO KIDS!
Was I wrong by reporting this to the manager?

Hell no. She should have better manners than that. Hopefully she was punished in some way or another. I applaud you for going to the manager. Most people would just shrug it off and let it go but you actually took action. I like that.

If the moms didn't, then yes you were wrong.

no you weren't wrong. Having worked in a similar store we are NOT supposed to talk like that in front of the customers.

What is it with you and wanting to get other people fired? (Pretty sure you started a topic about someone throwing a football).

You were totally in the right. I'd go to the manager any time I heard staff talking like that.

It wouldn't have bothered me, but that doesn't mean you were wrong.
It just means I don't look at those words as any different from other words. I just never have.

I don't think you did the wrong thing.
But i wouldn't of done the same, most i would've done is made her realize she just said that infront of little kids.
Unbelievable? No, fairly far from it even being very important.

What is it with you and wanting to get other people fired? (Pretty sure you started a topic about someone throwing a football). Well first, it wasn't a football, it was a chew toy. I don't want Wal*Mart girl fired, but swearing infront of kids? It's one thing for me or another customer to do that, but

Yeah,I think you were in the right. I hate when I'm in a public place and I hear the employees talk like that. While it may not bother them, not everyone wants to hear it.

I'm with you, Paul. But to be honest, our Greenville Wal*Mart sucks so bad, it's not even funny.

The way you look at the words isn't the point. The way the customers look at those words is the point, but then in this situation if you replaced the OP it'd just mean you didn't report it.

Well, when I was working at Walmart, I never swore near the customers because, well, I like my job. But were I standing in line in this situation, I probably wouldn't have even noticed.
