Last day of 2008 (well if you live in North America). How did the year go for you? in a scale of 1-10.
Personally I'd give it an 8. It was a propserous year for me. I returned to College after a 4 year absence, and I'm doing pretty good. "Dark Knight" and "Iron Man" lived up to my expectations, and the guy who I voted for won the presidential election (I don't mean to make this political).
My social life is still stagnant, The Lakers, Dodgers, and Angels didn't win any championships, but they improved immensely. I can look forward to next year with renewed interest.

Year started off rocky, got better in the Summer, and had a hell of a final 5-6 months to close the year. I'd say 8. Much better than 2007 as a whole for me.

George Carlin died. That pretty much canceled everything out for me.

8. Not an exciting year, but it's been relatively upbeat and despite the whole economic decline I'm financially doing better this year than I did last year.

A 7 but only barely. Would have been a 10 if 'Girl Problems' at the end of the year worked out better, but sadly it didn't and I ended on a bit of a bitter note.

11. I loved every minute of it. Hooking up with European chicks, getting dumped by a German girl, meeting new chicks, and it was BA.

6. It could have been so great, but good 'ole karma just likes to straighten things out. I graduated college, ran faster (well, more consistent), got a kitten, had a great 4th of July, and encountered mostly positive family encounters.
On the other hand, I'm stuck working at minimum wage for about 30-40 hours a week (though the cost of living is much lower than my hometown), got dumped twice, had a bad October, paying back loans for the next 10 years, and my family's health has gone downhill the last 3 months, which I am not pleased.
I so miss 2007, that was a great, almost flawless year.

The Good:
+ I got surgery on the "better" eye, and I'm back to my regular vision [still sucky but it's still an improvement] + Just 2 exams to get my long overdue degree + My final paper has finally taken a decisive step forward + I've finally met one of my "internet friends", and that was cool + I've found again a friend I thought was lost for good
The Bad:
- My love life was a flat line all year long, if you don't count the two weeks I was vaguely courting a girl who was so not into me I stopped caring.
- The last two exams I need to get that damn piece of paper are total pain in the ass material
- One of the professors in charge of my final paper is ill, the other one is so lazy he did manage to read/correct just 6 out of the 30 pages I gave him. In SIX freaking months.
- Some friendship got sour and some didn't blossom out as I hoped
The Verdict:
It was a 5. More or less a C- year. Rather bland, with a few, not so awesome, highlights, few, not so terrible, low points, adn with a whole lot of nothing in between.
All Quiet on the Western Front...

1 in the early part of the year, around a -10 during the summer, an 8 during autumn, and a 10 now.
