3. Had a few good months in the middle, but it was a piece of crap apart from that.

I'd give it an 8.
It was not that great till June, when I quit my job after over 7 years. Then the year got worlds better. The day I quit my job, and the day after were 2 of the happiest days of my life in recent memory.
The first half of the year drags it down to an 8.

I went for a 3.
The first couple of months were fun, then unemployment hit, my love rival proposed and everything since has sucked.
I suppose it could have been worse though.

8. It was okay, until I met some great people which I have become very good friends with. I feel like my social life has become refreshed this past year.

About a 2, probably the worst year of my life and most frustrating.

This year sucked. I learned that my oldest kid was doing drugs, he got expelled from school from doing drugs at school, I almost got kicked out of grad school because my GPA took a hit because I home schooled him, and he almost got expelled from school again because his name was mentioned by every kid that got swept up in a drug dealing ring that got busted a few months ago.
My brother-in-law is going through one of the nastiest divorces that I have ever heard of. His wife became a big pill-popper, started screwing her dealer, wouldn't go to rehab or quit seeing the guy (but yet still wondered why they couldn't work things out), started destroying everything of value of my brother-in-law's that she could get her hands on (He has to sleep in a locked room with his stuff. I cannot tell you how many cellphones she has destroyed.), records everything that he says and does, goes out of her way to try to provoke him into hitting her, and when he doesn't take the bait she still screams and hollers as though he did for her children and neighbors to hear. Worse part is, until the divorce is final, her lawyer won't let her move out of the house since it legally would be child abandonment.
I've had relatives die, my mom's health is the poops, and there were more crap to happen that I do not feel like talking about.
On the plus side, my marriage is stronger than it ever has been, but that is the only positive thing that I can think of from 2008.

3 for me. Dark Knight was awesome, I got a Zune and some good 360 games, no one I knew directly died, got to meet some of my favorite voice actors, and the guy I wanted to win the election did so. Otherwise, it's been total excretory matter.

6. An OK year, but just OK. Learned a lot though, and became a better person.

I'd give it about a 7. Good: Got closer to friends, won a bet, had some meaningless sex, passed my driving test. Moved to a "better" department at my job, went to 5 amazing gigs. Bad: Failed my driving test 4 times, "lost" £5,000 on my investments, crashed my car, got messed around my a girl... It should probably be lower but i'm being positive

9er.
Good: Graduated college after 8 years, got my doctorate, got a great job, in a relationship with the girl of my dreams, new nephew/niece on the way, Panthers got a first round bye.
Bad: Said girl of my dreams moves to Virginia next week, friend of mine died, brother was in the hospital this week with a ruptured appendix (he's fine now.)

on the plus side, i got to see ROH twice this year, met amazing people at school, had a pretty decent social life and a super cool summer.
on the downside, the home life was so bad that if negative 1 was an option, i'd take it. waaaay to many family problems really dragged the year down.
