I see it as a good thing really. I consider Viacom to be satan because of the pure garbage reality television they put on VH1 and MTV. Comedy Central, Spike and Nick arent as bad but that doesnt make up for it. I loathe Viacom immensely.

for once I'm happy to have a crappy little local cable company. YAY Mid Hudson Cable. Never thought I'd say that.

Eh. I could care less, myself. Losing those channels really means nothing to me, since I rarely watch them anyway. MTV could vanish tomorrow and I would not shed a tear.
Now, if they said DISCOVERY, History, or TruTV were going away....

So wait, does that mean that dudes with basic cable like me are f***ed as far as finding these channels? Or am I worrying for nothing, because I'd SERIOUSLY miss Comedy Central, Spike, TV Land, and Nick

Eh, they'll work it out soon, trust me. No Nick means a lot of calls from angry mothers.
TV's going crazy this year, though, it seems. I've seen quite a few popups on different stations about no longer being carried on certain providers. My provider is dropping a CBS and at least one other station. We have three CBS-es right now, but apparently they're dropping the one from Philly that plays Phillies and Flyers games, so people are already pissed and it hasn't happened yet.

Well this is bullcrap. Not more than 5 minutes after reading this thread, on Nick during Fresh Prince, I saw the thing scroll across the bottom. They said for Time Warner customers to call 1-800-762-3786 and demand it. I'll try it tomorrow. Of course they cancel Comedy Central during the only month of the year it's REALLY worth watching, stand up month. I always watch CC, Nick, Spike and occasionally VH1. I'm mad.

Just curious as I never had Time Warner... but this crap didn't start happening until Turner left, right?

I have Time Warner cable, so I'm screwed! I watch Spike, Comedy Central, VH1 Classic, MTVU, and MTV Hits. Uggh, I've taped every TNA Impact since the Fox Sports Net days. Woe is me.
