f***.....I watch Comedy Central every now and then and also watch Spike so I can laugh at how Impact sucks every now and then....but as far as MTV and the other stations (excluding MTV Hits since it's an actual music channel, VH1 Classic too) I could care less since they have no shows that interest me anyway...

This happened once with Dish Network, they worked it out in like two days.

Great just f***ing great so I'm losing 6 channels on a basic cable system that has 4 shopping networks, 7 news channels, 4 women networks, 2 religion channels. Were losing channels I actually watch.

More people nowadays are canceling their cable (save for local channels) in favor of a Netflix or Blockbuster subscription. Can't blame them a bit.

They'll work it out. If the channels go black, it won't be for long. Personally I wouldn't care. Viacom should be ashamed for their laziness. Everyone knows how I feel about that. They should be giving out discounted rates for showing the same shit over and over again. It's not like they're running non stop with a wide variety of programming.
Hell, they're probably saving assloads with the approach their using to their programming. I don't feel sorry for them one bit.

Suddenlink here. Not losing any cable channels, but they might be dropping the local NBC affiliate (keeping the Charleston one a hundred miles away). So now I get to miss the local news. I don't care about a robbery in Charleston, I won't know who the robber is. Here, I turn on the local Parkersburg news and I see a robbery, most of the time I know the guy. I want to be able to watch the local news and then surprise all my friends..."Hey, you know why we haven't seen him around lately? He just got convicted of trying to hijack that Budweiser truck. I saw it on the news."
As for Viacom, I feel sorry for Time Warner customers. Everyone is bound to like at least one of those channels, probably multiple. MTV needs to die or get a name change. Sell the name and trademarks of the original MTV, and just call yourselves SheepTV. SheepTV...because you want to, not because everyone else is. (Ten points if you get that reference.)

Viacom can keep all the crap on VH1, MTV, Spike, etc. and just give us Comedy Central and Nickelodeon and I'm ok with this.

Yep, this totally reeks of the Sky/Virgin Media feud that robbed Virgin customers of Sky 1 and Sky Sports News for about 18 months - we only got the channels back a couple of months ago.

Just a quick note for those who have Time Warner Cable (like my father does and I may):
Time Warner Cable will refund customers for losing the 19 channels that have been already listed. However, the amount of the refund has yet to be determined.

Well, to those who did lose the channels (i have cable one so im not impacted), im pretty sure nickelodeon and comedy central do stream some of their shows online, south park has all their shows archived at south park studios, and does TNA still have their youtube channel?

Yes, but they don't show whole episodes of Impact! on there. Thankfully, this week's show is essentially a moot point, as it's The Best of 2008 show.

I regularly watch Spike, TV Land, MTV Hits, and Comedy Central. I even have some use for The N with them showing That 70's Show. I am literally minutes away from severe rioting. Time Warner better get their heads out of their ass! They're gonna make me lose iMPACT!

I just saw the announcement. Christ, I just cannot have nice things.
The funny thing is, the refund does nothing for me, because I get my cable free from the company. I hope they get this figured out quick, perhaps before the Saturday replay of Impact. I still remember when Fox Sports Net kept getting knocked off the air for months at a time...ironically enough, when TNA was airing it's weekly show there as well.

I have WideOpen West, and they're taking Fox Soccer Channel away. I think I'm the only person that cares.
We will get a second WGN based out of LA, instead. Hell, I get WGN for free on TV. Why do I need a channel that shows the same stuff?
