well that sucks. maryse was just getting good, and then this happens. If it helps, you never know for sure until it's on TV. Remember when people were convinced Edge got short hair until he came out on Smackdown with his normal mane?

3 Diva's have been injured? Which ones? Are we counting Batista? Maryse, Maria, and Layla have been said to be hurt, though with Maria and Layla, it's been said they "got hurt" at two house shows in a row. I'm getting the indication these report sites think any selling is a legit injury. They've been watching too many spotfest matches, and forgot you're supposed to sell. Well, Layla's injury was basically just twisting her ankle real bad as she hopped up on the apron so I don't see it as meant to be selling anything.

Doesn't look like it's Maryse's fault, however if a Bella twin can't even do a dropkick right, either a) don't do it or b) send her back to developmental to learn how to do one. I said this in the Maria thread, but half of these girls can't put together a match, let alone specific sets of moves.

Suckage. I could see them spinning this though into "Maryse takes swanky European vacation to celebrate her title win." Maybe even some promos after a while. Like the RKO Updates, but without referencing the fact that she's injured.

No, it's because she can't wrestle! Okay, maybe it wasn't her fault but it doesn't change the fact that she sucks. Says who?

This sucks. Mayrse isn't the best Diva at wrestling but, she is ok/pretty good. Also she has solid charisma and plays her bitchy character perfectly.

I don't see why the title needs to be moved off of Maryse. It's not like the Divas title is a championship that DEMANDS a fighting champion. One of Trish's reigns as women's champion lasted well over a year, and she'd go a good stretch of time without defending. It's part of why the reign was so damn long. By and large, I don't know if anyone would care that it wasn't being defended. Just put her on TV as the arrogant champion who keeps ducking title shots. When you need to explain why she hasn't been stripped of the title, just say she defended it at a house show or something. I don't really think it's necessary to pull the plug on her reign. But, and this is a huge BUT, if it's a serious knee injury, and she were to miss months, you couldn't do it. McCool defended the belt, what, two/three times on TV in six months - I remember when Orlando Jordan was US champ, I don't think he defended it on TV between beating Cena in February and facing Benoit five months later. The E are very good about forgetting about belts when they want to. If they want to to do an angle where she does everything she can to avoid defending, they will. Hell, they could even have part of the angle that she gets someone to defend on her behalf, and creates a DQ if she thinks she could lose the title. The question is, does Maryse deserve that sort of push? Not in my opinion.

It may have been against guys like Funaki, but he put it on the line.

That's worse than I thought. I know someone who had an injury like that. I'd say that easily will take her out for a few months, depending on how badly dislocated it was, and how well rehab and getting back into shape goes. Really sad news

Owner: Michelle McCool is the Divas champion. Homer: [worried] Ooooh, that's bad. Owner: But they're pushing Natalya as the top heel contender. Homer: [relieved] That's good. Owner: They stopped pushing Natalya. Homer: [worried] That's bad. Owner: But Maryse has now won the Divas championship. Homer: [relieved] That's good. Owner: Maryse just blew out her knee. Homer: [stares] Owner: That's bad. My favorite Halloween episode, great job.

Dislocated kneecap? I feel her pain: I was not a happy panda. It'll take her awhile to get back into in-ring shape.

If the reports are right, then the blame (if you want to assign it) is completely with the Bella Twin that delivered the sloppy dropkick. Freak accident, sure. Rey Mysterio took out Mark Henry in a similar way a year or two back. It's too bad. Maryse has really moved on from being "Attractive Girl Welcoming You Back to Smackdown" to a very good "Stuck-up Egotistical Witch" heel. She just has that aura of feeling like she's better than people and she had developed a set of moves that advanced that character even more (That roll into a camel clutch springs to mind). It might be a while before she's flipping her hair on TV again. I wish her the best.

Hey if Trish can keep the Women's title while injured for months, Maryse can do it with a title that doesn't even get defeated on a regular basis.
Have her do a RNN style update video every week.

I actually agree with the idea bought up like on this page or the last one. Have her hire another female wrestler as her stand-in for defences and have her force DQs to retain the tile.

Hey if Trish can keep the Women's title while injured for months, Maryse can do it with a title that doesn't even get defeated on a regular basis. Have her do a RNN style update video every week. I like this idea....I also like the idea of giving her a "Virgil" like maid or servant character, befitting her wealth and status, to step in and defend the belt for her. Except this "Virgil" would be absolutely LETHAL. To the point that, when Maryse IS ready to return, this "maid" or servant, or whatever, actually decides to keep the belt for herself, and it sets up a Maryse vs. "servant character" match for the belt. The only question is....who to bring in in that role?
