I think one thing a lot of people seem to be missing is that JBL is a nasty heel who must clearly be lying if he claims to be employing HBK out of the goodness of his heart. If JBL was really paying Shawn this would essentially be the most expensive (kayfabe) rib in wrestling history. So if this storyline is going to make any sense JBL must have fooled a hard up, desperate, and gullible Shawn Michaels who has lost all his money that he's richer than he really is and promised him a huge amount of money to do his bidding. But he won't ever actually give him this money. It'll keep being a promise until Shawn finally calls him on it and snaps. In the meantime Stephanie or some other babyface will assist him with financial troubles so that he is then free to take on JBL with no financial risk to his family and win. The End.
Or this is just going to continue making no sense at all, which is probably more likely.

No.
Needs to happen at No Way Out.
HBK wins.
Next night on Raw:
HBK: "I proved I'm the best Texan on this roster!"
*lights go out, Undertaker's music starts*
then they set up HBK/Undertaker at WM.
It'll be horrible if they waste HBK's Wrestlemania match on JBL.

I see it as JBL putting his 'acquisition' Shawn Michaels in a guaranteed money-making match at Mania (mmmm alliteration), after JBL 'challenges' Undertaker to a one-on-one interbrand match. JBL then reveals it'll be Michaels fighting Taker, not JBL. Michaels says he'll do it to 'steal the show' and end Taker's streak.
Michaels gives a valiant fight, finally beaten by Taker at WM. JBL comes out and berates Michaels. Michaels, who has made 'a lot of money' due to the high stakes match (and despite 'going home with the loser's share of the purse' - how long has it been since we've heard that?) gets fed up and superkicks JBL. Crowd claps. Michaels poses. Everyone's a winner.

I would love to see an HBK promo were he says " When it comes to WM i have done it all. I wrestled as a tag team, i have wrestled Hall of Famers ( Tito, Bret), best friends ( Razor, Diesel, Triple H), Olympic Gold Medalists ( Angle), The Boss ( Vince), The Biggest Stars in the company ( Austin, Cena), and people who looked up to me ( Y2J). I have fought for the titles, won titles and lost titles. And last year i retirted the man i looked up to. But there is still one thing i haven't done at WM, and that is end the streak!"

Why the hell would HBK say "I'm the best Texan"? I don't mean to be a jerk, but that's very cheesy.
Wouldn't it be much more in character for him to say he's the best, and Undertaker came? Why specify state? All that does is make the fans think Austin would show up or something.

It'll be horrible if they waste HBK's Wrestlemania match on JBL. More horrible than wasting HBK's WrestleMania match on the usual, anticlimatic, boring, stale and predictable win for Undertaker? Not to mention I bet Shawn wouldn't be that happy to lay down for the Deadman, and the Deadman himself won't be happy with Shawn not being happy... We've been through the "tapes his fists" routine once, do we need it again? For a meaningless Taker win? HBK v JBL >>>>> HBK v Taker.

I know you hate the streak and all, but Taker finally getting that win back over Shawn at WM would be great,IMO.

Not to mention, I don't think the idea it would be meaningless is sound. Seems to me it'd mean a hell of a lot to wrestling fans, even if the ending isn't that much in question.
They COULD say Shawn could be the guy to do it, retiring Flair, but have no intention of giving him the streak.

I agree with Loki, I can't think of a bigger waste of HBK's Mania match than to job him out to Taker. I would much rather see him end the feud with JBL, beating him clean, preferrably for the belt, but maybe not.

who cares if HBK loses to Taker, it isn't about who wins and loses with HBK, it is about the match stealing the show. Seriously a JBL match would be good sure but not WM level. ANd HBK clearly has ZERO problem lossing to Taker, as you may recall HE REQUESTED to face Taker at WM, clearly he knows he isn't going to win. Facing Taker would at 25 would be epic, period! JBL meh who cares, do it at No Way Out or Backlash.

If this God-awful angle lasts all the way to Mania, I will claw my eyes out.
Though, if it IS going to last that long, I'd love to see it serve as a long-term "this is your life" kind of thing for Shawn. Have Janetty come in for a couple weeks to try and convince him that he doesn't need to do what he's doing. Get Triple H involved some more. Maybe even a one-off Scott Hall appearance (since Kevin's still in TNA). End it with his wife making another appearance, begging him to stop, that the family will survive and they'll be okay and that he doesn't need to sell himself like this. BAM, superkick on JBL, Shawn and Family ride off into the sunset.
