NO JOKE- Possibly another Diva Injured (Layla)

Anyone who was at the MSG Raw show tonight can vouch for this. During Regal/Punk for ther IC title, near the end of the match, Layla got on the apron, presumedly to distract Punk or the ref. (Luckily, she kept her shoes on.) While she was doing that, she slipped and fell off and landed very awkwardly on the floor, grabbing her knee. Regal had to improv by justing hitting a move (cant remember what) and get the pin. She made it back OK by leaning on Regal, but I dont know the full extent.

Whats going on around here?

Er the exact same thing happened at an earlier house show. I think Layla pretending to be injured is just the way her and Regal are distracting Punk so that Regal can use the brass knuckles to win or something. I've also heard via the Observer that some of the divas are working on how to sell getting hurt better this week, so that might account for a lot of these "injury" reports that they're just working into matches (evidently to excellent results in fooling a lot of people), although the Maryse one sadly sounds a bit more legit.

I'm thinking that this one is a work, since they ran the same angle at the show on Friday.

-CM Punk vs. William Regal for the Intercontinental Championship was next. Biggest pop thus far for Punk while Regal scored his typical, glorious chorus of boos from the crowd. I'm always amazed how much heat Regal attracts just by flashing a specific look on his face. Just awesome. A pretty solid match ended very abruptly by what looked like an injury, but not to either Regal or Punk. As Punk lifted Regal up for the GTS, Layla hopped on the apron to do the typical 'heel manager distracts the referee' bit. When she got on the apron, it looked like she twisted her ankle and the referee held her up for a second. She fell to the floor and against the guard rail. Regal delivered a punch to Punk and picked up the win. Just a punch, no brass knuckles. The referee counted to three, looked agitated, and called for the bell. Then he waved it off. Then he called for the bell again. Layla managed to roll into the ring and, from where I was sitting, appeared to apologize to Regal right away. She then limped around the ring with the Intercontinental Championship before Punk delivered the GTS to Regal. The referee and Howard Finkle exchanged some words before Regal, still selling the GTS, was obviously aiding Layla to the back. Maybe she was just selling REALLY well but whatever the case was, the finish definitely didn't seem like it was the intended result.

Hopefully she is okay. If she is injured, hopefully she can be Regal's valet, but WWE sometimes seems adament that valets/managers have to be able to take bumps. Seems like she could continue to do her role without wrestling or taking bumps.

I had no idea about that. But I dont know about this one. The slip and fall she took looked totally legit though. And she continued to sell it backstage....I dunno...we'll find out eventually.

It's just me speculating. If she can walk, I don't see why she couldn't appear with Regal backstage, walk him to the aisle, sit with the commentators, and stand by the ring. WWE can book Regal matches in such a way that Layla doesn't have to get physically involved.
